Dropping few quick nukes on an insane little POS who is getting nukes and firing missles is not an entanglement - it is a pleasure.

Call me crazy, but I'll defer to General Mattis' judgment on this matter over your visceral thoughts.

Bolton was one of the biggest war hawks in the Bush administration and a strong advocate of invading Iraq. He was one of the most vocal about Iraq WMDs. How did that little pleasure work out?

Strange how the military wants to avoid war and chicken hawk civilians are the biggest advocates of military solutions. Bolton has also recently advocated bombing Iran to kill their nuclear program.
Bolton has stated that he joined the National Guard after college to avoid the Vietnam era draft.

It was working extremely well at first, but then Bush lost his brains and balls and put a choke hold on our troops actually fighting. That and having no plan of what to do once we got in there.
But the idea was sound.
One assumes when you go to war, you freaking go to war..
That was lost on Bush.
You kill people and break things until there is nothing left to kill or break.

The military was allowed to fight and win the actual war. The second part of that statement is correct. There is no effective way to fight irregular forces embedded in a civilian environment with a conventional military. A lesson we should have learned in Vietnam.
Bush the Elder (not the Elker) was criticized for not following up the victory in Desert Storm by going into Iraq and taking down Saddam. One reason for that was that the president and his advisers knew that would result in sectarian violence, and they knew that they could do nothing to control it.

But if we just put a democracy there everything will go great right...?
Bolton thinks so.

The people in Iraq don't want a democracy. They want a theocracy with their branch of Islam in charge.

There’s an effective way. Nobody has the balls to do it anymore.
We did it every day in WWII
50 bombers on low level runs coming through every day and night puts an end to any and all resistance in a short period of time

Hardly effective when you are fighting a few hundred guerillas armed with IEDs hiding in a city of hundreds of thousands.

We were not allowed to shell mosques, or blow them to oblivion.
We should have blasted anything in the general direction a shot came from.
We had rules of engagement a stupid idea for a war.

One day we will be in the middle of war, very likely with Iran. President Donald J. Trump does not want this, however it is incumbent on the President to have our military at 100% should it occur on his watch.

Even more likely if Bolton has his way.

What has that got to do with Bolton? That's a concern for Mattis, not a war monger like Bolton.

No, he is just an adviser when war comes and it will.

You think that a chickenhawk like Bolton can give the president better advise about war than someone with military experience like Mattis?
Remember, Bolton was the guy advising Bush to attack Saddam because of his huge stash of WMDs.
