That happened in spite of Obama, not because of anything he did. Remember shovel-ready jobs or Cash for Clunkers?
It was the slowest recovery in modern history.
A president does not and cannot create economic growth. He can create a legal and regulatory environment that allows the private sector to create growth. Obama did not do that.
P.S. The stock market is not the real economy. It can often be the only place to get a return on money if actual investments in businesses are not attractive. An increasing Dow-Jones does not create jobs.
