You should care. Everything Paul summarized about the relationship between YHWH and Israel is stated in the OT in some form or another. Ask the rabbi if he thinks Paul was lying.

Except when Paul, himself a Jew and former Pharisee before his conversion, would appear to speak well of Israel. Since your favorite rabbi still awaits the [first] coming of the Jewish Messiah, it stands to reason his expectation of that event rests upon the promises contained in covenants of the OT, including those in the Law, etc. I doubt very seriously if rabbi Singer would dispute the fact that the Jews were and still are the chosen people of God, and therefore, a nation of great privilege, which is precisely what Paul was teaching in those two passages I quoted.
