I can see trying to find the optimal grass for the local climate, but unless they had a clear reason to switch the grass type, I say, "If it's not broken don't fix it". Whatever their experts told them may be correct for the climate but not for racing??? I wonder what kind of grass other tracks in the area use. Maybe it's not even the grass. Maybe they screwed up the base/soil.

I’m still mad at Churchill Downs and its shitty turf course for killing a nice colt I was following— Gingrich (three year old by Mr. Speaker).

CD itself would probably feel right at home in 1980s era Russia.

Why wouldn't they just use the same grass as Keeneland? Seems to work for them.
