I try to keep my posts in relevant topics and didn't see this anywhere yet so...
Any thoughts by Trump supporters on his threat to defy the courts and go the EO route for the census question?
Seems a helluva slippery slope there and just wondered if it was supported or not.

The American citizenship question was on every census till 2010.
Why wouldn't it make sense to put it back on the census? We have zero idea how many illegal immigrants live within our borders. Numbers range anywhere from 11 million to 22 million and have an impact on the number of Reps and Electoral Votes each state receives.
We all know why the Dems don't want it on the census.

100% in favor.
He HAS the power to do so - courts acknowledged that, but threw in a totally off base question of why he was???
It has been on there before.
It already asked your race.......duh.
In fact, dems used that question in specifically selected areas - a sort of gerrymandering.
There is no reason to not ask that question.

Not sure if you were only interested in fast4523 opinion, thask, but I do not agree totally in Voight's assessment of The Donald, Trimp.
I think Trump is the greatest president since Ronald Reagan.
His record proves this using all the metrics valued by the pundits and historians when making such judgments and opinions of presidents.
Just look at all his accomplishments. All in < 3 years.
His detractors have shown us that they are political, governent, economic and historical dunces, plain and simple, so their criticisms are biased and suspect.

I prefer cherry pie to apple.
Does it matter if John Voight agrees with me?

Of course not.
I posted just to remind everyone on here that Donald Trump is the greatest US president since Ronald Reagan, that's all.

You caught it!
Though I would see if anyone would.
That is just one more thing I don't agree on with JON Voight - how to spell his name!

I'm not asking about whether or not the question is legitimate.
History surely says it is.
I'm asking specifically about Trump's potential decision to break the Consitution and rule by decree.

But feel free to believe what you need to.

He hasn't gone the EO route even 1/10th of the time as his predecessor. Why is that such a big deal now?
There was an extreme precedent that had been set. He is resetting that precedent. How can that even be questioned by an EO for a POTUS?

Move over Pierce, Andrew Johnson, and James Buchanan, SOON you will no longer be reported as the worst president in history
The KIDNEY has a special place in the heart? Not according to my copy of Gray's

I wasn't talking about Obama.
I was talking about the President blatantly ignoring the Judicial Branch and ruling by decree. If you could find me a example since Andrew Jackson of a President completely ignoring a Judicial ruling I'd be happy to hear about it.
Anywho... he backed down from it (intelligently) so surely Trump supporters are mad at him for right?

Not a full blown Trump nazi like you want to make most of us out to be, but yes, I'm very displeased he backed down on a very legitimate EO to ask a needed question on our Census.
I guess the GOP is gonna bend over and give 20 to 30 or so Electoral Votes to the Dems with CA and NY.

So while this is apparently an important issue to you the fact is he lost the court battle.
While I agree asking if you're a citizen on the census isn't a crazy ass question his team's utter incompetence coupled with bold-faced lying is why they were handed the L.
It wasn't even a L... Roberts simply and correctly heard the argument and drew this conclusion:
They are welcome to try again.
What puzzles me about Trump supporters though is the Supreme Court said definitively, "not this time" and people who supposedly hold the Consitution as sacred are like...
So... now turn this around... since you're not caring about checks and balances now...
Generic Dem Administration: "Gun Control EO Time!"
Supreme Court: "Nope..."
Generic Dem Administration: "**** you, Gun Control Time!"
