There are a lot of people on MSN that think he will take lots of votes from the Republican, that just shows you how dumb the average voter is.

RFK Jr. has consistently polled about 20-25% amongst probable Democratic voters vs. Joe Biden.
This is remarkable considering RFK Jr. has been basically ignored by the mainstream media, "de-platformed" so-to-speak by the powerful social media outfits such as Google (YouTube, Instagram) and Meta (Facebook), etc., and reviled by Party leaders. He has been called a kook, a science-denier, anti-vax, mask, what have you, and a traitor. And this man is a son and nephew of the two most revered Democrats of modern times!
Running in the Democrat primaries cannot help Joe Biden one inch.
In the primaries, RFK Jr. will wipe the floor with Biden winning younger voters, older, nostalgic Democrats, and the very, very, very few Democrats who have a sliver of common sense and realizes Biden is a mistake and a stain on the Democrat Party and the country.
So, it is quite possible those faceless, nameless true power brokers and insiders that 'run' politics, big business and many other institutions, visited RFK Jr. and asked him to respect the memory of his father and uncle and NOT run as a Democrat but as an Independent.
By running as an Independent there will no head-to-head polling vs. Biden. If he hurts Biden or Trump in the general really isn't the main issue as I see it.
But, if he can get an acceptable conservative Republican to run with him as Veep, then that ticket will hurt both Biden and Trump. Did anyone just say "No Labels"?

I think in the general election you have to look at 3rd party numbers from the last couple general elections. Then add a small percentage to those numbers just because of the Kennedy name. I do believe it is trouble for Biden more than anything because he will come out swinging about Biden's corruption when at the same time Trump will also be calling Biden a crook. I also think the whole RFK Jr. thing is to take out Biden, but lets watch and see.

He didn't really say what he's going to do that would be different from what Biden is doing. A lot of republicans hate Trump and would like to have an alternative, but RFK isn't close to being a conservative.
As long as he can fog a mirror, Biden will run and get reelected.

It's amazing people still think Biden is viable.
Do they not watch him?
How did our standards fall so low? You see it everywhere, not just with him...but he's an important one..
Does anybody care about this country any longer?

Only people who have a controlling interest being part of a group who meet every year to see how much they can squeeze out of the middle class. It does not matter who is used to enable gains because any voting block can be discarded after serving its purpose.

He's actually got some common sense platform ideas that he's not afraid to stand up for
Unfortunately ANYTIME the MSM media mentions him, they tag him with anti-vaxxer which is not really true.
Me? I don't think either Trump or Biden will be the respective nominees and things will get quite shaken up in the next 6 months.

We are living in "interesting times". I'm not so sure one can look at past 3rd-party effects to accurately predict the impact this time might have. Most of the time, there's an incumbent still with some popularity, an engaging (maybe) challenger, and mostly fair elections.
This time we may be faced with a doddering old corrupt fool and one who is not liked by half his party. If anything, it could make the vote-counters jobs a little more complicated.
