American Pharoah-Behind the scenes

http://www.paulickreport.com/news/ra...meant-so-much/

Call me a sucker but I love the passion she shows thru her words.

It's why I love this game (besides the competition, the challenge and the smell of horse shit).

I'd rather have a bud light then a glass of champagne too, good for HER, good for American Pharoah to have such an impact.

Before anyone says, I'm a turn coat, I am not. I do respect and admire what he represents and is doing. Will I bet on him the next time I see him? More than likely not. But that's just the gambling side of the equation and more importantly who cares?

Good stuff.

Look at that picture from July 2012, he is already the Michael Jordan of thoroughbreds in that picture.

these are the people I tend to relate to when I think about the industry, the grooms and caretakers and farmhands. the people working on the clock, doing the unglamorous hard labor required to take care of these horses.

these are also the first people I think about when there is a tragedy on the racetrack, the groom who has to walk back empty handed to the stable, without that companion that he or she has worked on tirelessly, day after day, with pride and affection, bonded with, grown to love, etc. I put myself in their shoes and imagine how I would feel, and it's hard to imagine.
