President Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign was fined $375,000 by the Federal Election Commission for campaign reporting violations — one of the largest fees ever levied against a presidential campaign.” Prior to that, Bob Dole set a record for FEC fines from his 1996 presidential campaign, paying $100,000

Cohen did not have any powerful clients in DC, NYC, anywhere. If Cohen had the goods on Trump on ANYTHING, he'd never would have been sentenced.

paying off these debutants isn't going to take down this president, and Cohen must have had more problems that had nothing to do with Trump.
Trump probably wouldn't have pardoned him, so Cohen decided to cut his own deal. they already took away his money and gave him a big fine, so he is probably going to score on a book or movie deal once he gets out if indeed he does go in. the other thing to take into consideration is that he was in the taxi business, he owned medallion's that have depreciated bigtime and probably has notes on them. if those notes are held corporately without a personal guarantee, Cohen will probably go bankrupt tomorrow.
so far there is nothing public that is going to take down Trump other than speculation.

the judge has requested for Cohen to do his time in Ottisville. if i was in his shoes i would want to be in Marion which is about a mile below ground and all solitary confinement. if they could get Whitey Bulger in West Virginia, someone could get Cohen in Ottisville in about 2 minutes flat. i wouldn't want to wait to start doing my time, i would have wanted to go in today and get out in about 2 years. he will get 15% off for good time and the rest will be done in a halfway house or house arrest under full guard.

If something is 'wrong' does that make it illegal?

he's never going to go to a jail. they will put him in a safe house somewhere and guard him, if he is home now, they are guarding him with at least 6 full time federal agents.
no way in hell does he go to jail and mingle with the population.
in addition, he doesn't have such a great deal. he probably doesn't get to see his family until he is done testifying. and the chances are if they indite Trump, it won't be until after he is done serving his term as president. it could be over 3 years before Trump could even see a courtroom and Cohen will have to stay put.
if it was me, i would have kept my mouth shut, done the time and wrap it up and go home and take my shot at a comeback somehow. Cohen must have vengeance on his mind now to go for this program.

Stop listening to Jerry Nadler. Nadler thinks he can introduce legislation to indict Trump after he leaves office. A special law to go after Trump? Or just presidents? which is it.
Either way it's unconstitutional. The 14th amendment guarantees equal protection under the law. You cannot make up laws that only apply to certain people. not to mention five other problems with writing a law like that...........like the right a speedy trial, facing accusers etc
