Crushing the Cup- Jim Mazur
Has anyone purchased this in the past or know about it? I was thinking on purchasing for this year but I need to know if it is any good at a price of $36.95. Thanks to ALL WHO ACTUALLY REPLY!

I see a free downloads section but none of the older Crushing the Cup packages are there. I find that interesting. If they were good, what better advertising? Maybe they were good and he just needs a better adman.

The stuff he puts into the book is pretty good. Using his angles and tidbits of information will lead you in the right direction. Mazur has a bash at the Mohican Sun Casino, every Breeder’s Cup. He puts together a “Wagering Cartel” with the attendees. They pulled down the Pick Six with Arrogate a couple of years ago.
Go to his web site to the free downloads, and read his epilogues from the Derby and Preakness, to get a feel for what he is talking about. He is a contratian, and thinks outside of the box.

I buy Crushing the Cup and Triple Crown Handicapper every year. I like his recaps of his previous years. It helps me jog my memory of what I did right and wrong last year, and the stats are a great reference. The online appendix has just about every kind of stat you may be looking for. It's worth the price for me.
Another good resource I use is the BC Stats here:

Did I hear contrarian and thinking outside the box? I'm interested already and will check out his site with an open mind.

Went to his website and checked out his Derby and Preakness epilogues. Pretty accurate selections but, as Ainslie has said, everybody is a good handicapper after a race is run. I was hoping that something would leak out about how he arrived at them as I'm always interested in other people's handicapping methods, but one shouldn't expect someone who sells his selections to reveal much about his methods. You might say I'm giving him a semi-endorsement.

Jim does sell his selections but Crushing the Cup is a resource of vast information to help YOU come up with contenders and plays. The epilogues I have read, and there have been many, describe exactly the angles he uses to come up with his Crushing Zone, Gray Zone and Pretenders.

I asked super screener if I can look at their copy for last years Breeders Cup but could I use the same criteria for making my picks from last year? I’m not putting the link in because you know what.

I would strongly recommend Crushing the Cup over the one you mention unless you want your inbox to be filled with spam and false promises.

Because giving away links to free stuff that people are selling isn't cool, right?

I've used his products in the past, mainly Crushing the Cup. It has actually helped me understand and sort out the Euro horses more than anything.

PMing stuff isn't really cool either. I mean, I understand people are going to do it. But don't advertise it please. Regardless of what you think of someone's work, they actually do the work and it shouldn't be passed around in public or behind the scenes for free if they charge for it.
