From the Sheffield Rules
"The referee indicates an indirect free kick by raising his arm above his head until the kick has been taken and ball has touched another player other than the kicker or has gone out of play"
If, when the free kick is taken by the defending team from inside its own penalty area, the ball does not travel directly out of the penalty area:
RE:Chelsea- I agree they are the best but harken back to Liverpool last year; the title was theirs to lose which they accomplished easily !!
BTW- Swansea polled a huge road upset vs. Southhampton yesterday and Astom Villa has now gone 10+ hours of league play without a goal. Can you say relegation ?

Missed this post, COTB
You're spot on about the rule.
It's just that it only comes up about once every 10 years.
Even more rare than a foul throw in, which I actually saw called yesterday.
Been years since I've seen that come up, too.
Chelsea have a stranglehold on the title.
City are in and out of form, and while Arsenal and Spurs
are playing very well, they have next to no chance of challenging.
Southampton, Man.Utd., and Liverpool are fighting for fourth place
at best - and that means a lot to them for Euro qualifying next season.
Nothing is impossible, though. Chelsea pick up some injuries,
get some more suspensions like Costa's, they might lose a few games.
They have to self-destruct to lose the PL, and someone has to get hot.
They're approaching the 3/8ths pole about 6 in front.
I haven't studied the relegation situation, yet.
Those lower teams are so Jekyll and Hyde.
Btw, should be a good game between Liverpool and Spurs tomorrow.
Harry Kane has been scoring goals like crazy lately, and Liverpool
are improving - plus Sturridge is healthy again.
