It's Alive!! NAFTA
"Canada has agreed to sign on to a trade deal between US and Mexico, preserving the three-country North American Free Trade Agreement after more than a year of tortuous negotiations, a US official and a Canadian official told CNN late Sunday.
The US and Canadian governments agreed to a deal that would allow greater access to Canada's dairy market and address concerns about potential auto tariffs just hours before a self-imposed midnight deadline, the officials said."

Canadian media reporting TPP level access to dairy market in exchange for keeping NAFTA Chapter 19.
So... nothing on that front.
Waiting on the rest.

Okay so early understanding is the Canadians have negotiated themselves a future exemption from United States auto tariffs.
The quota is the amount of Canadian auto exports that would be exempt if the United States placed tariffs on auto imports.
Basically the United States got nothing... except for levels of access to the Canadian dairy market they would have gotten with TPP.

It's hilarious.
Canada agrees to the stuff it already agreed to in TPP and CETA while carving out future exemptions for itself.
The Trump Administration is going to really harp on that dairy portion of the agreement... so... when you remember all the bluster and shit-talking that's happened between us and Canada this year it all came down to about $800 million dollars in milk.

EDIT:
Oh and it's not NAFTA anymore. Its the USMCA.
Changing the name was actually a US stipulation.

Bigger blow would have been to simply join TPP which is all this is... minus the other 10 countries.
As a Canadian you should be happy. You gave up basically nothing in these negotiations and got what is essentially immunity from any future US Auto Tariffs.
