Good advice from Rush Limbaugh
Mr. Limbaugh in replying to a recent caller who had been fearful that President Trump was being battered by the news media and that he may lose the election because of it, had an interesting reply to him. He told him to do himself a favor and not to listen to or watch the news from CNN,MSNBC and the like for a week, along with reading The NYT and WP, and he'd be surprised how his worries would be allayed.
I though to myself,"great idea, but I don't watch CNN and that bunch, nor read those bird cage liners. I watch my local news, and within the 2 hours or so they are on the air , I see updates of National happenings. That's enough for me."
Oh yeah, there's one more place where I hear news and comments on the news. It's from the Pace Advantage "off topic" section. I realize now that the people who post here, Left and Right, are the most divisive and derisive bunch of people that I've ever encountered. I am glad that I don't know most of you guys personally. If you approach people in your personal life like you do at this place,I'm surprised that you haven't had your blocks knocked off! So, I'm going to take that wise man's advice, and tune you guys out.

Is he saying that the folks who post here are more lethal than covid-19?

A year from now Rush won't be around anymore.
I listen to a few minutes a day..........since the pandemic. He is changing......... a little. I think he knows his destiny
Who is going to replace him? Going to be interesting

Rush is one of a kind. I don't think anyone can replace him per se. He's just too tough of an act to follow.
My hope and prayer for him is that he is in as good a place spiritually as his brother David is.

Carlson certainly has a lot of potential. My big question mark with him would be his political insights. Rush has uncanny insights, which is why his predictions come to pass in the vast majority of cases.

I stopped watching all news shows, stopped reading newspapers, no longer go to Drudge, rarely visit Facebook other than to wish someone a happy birthday, deleted my personal Twitter account, deleted my account to a Knicks basketball forum where politics started coming up too often, and muted a few people on my @Classhndicapper Twitter account.
I have a handful of people I follow for sports and other news over and above horse racing.
I think I'm going to be a much happier and less stressed person as I keep weeding out as much mainstream media and social media as I can.

Good for you.
I call it Media Distancing. I try to do the same, have never been with any of the social sites myself to begin with. Everyone should try to go for a walk in the woods as much as they can, without headphones or smartphones, it really has a great calming effect. I have a dog to walk at least twice a day, so she helps motivate me to get out there.
