I wonder if some smart bettors will figure out a way to hedge against Essential Quality and get a really cheap mattress?

I do like his sports-based/racing-based promotions. And he does a lot of goodwill for Texas.
But he really should use a rebate shop!!

EQ has a lot stacked against him. No way he goes off post time favorite and wins. The law of averages is heavily stacked against him. The favorite has crossed the finish line first since 2013. I will bet against even if that sounds silly.

I've spent a little time with Jim. It's more about the publicity of the bet......than the bet.
He is a great guy! A true philanthropist
He does lots of stuff for people we never hear about.

Yeah but in this case he's really dickin' with the pool. I don't see how anyone can be all right with this, for whatever publicity purposes it's supposed to accomplish. For some reason this rubs me the wrong way.

The Derby favorite lost just last year.
(And of course, "crossing the finish line first" ignores the fact that Maximum Security took out 3 horses turning for home and was rightfully taken down.)

How is he "dickin'" with the pool, when he's TELLING YOU exactly what he is doing days before the race?
Are you allowed to bet as much as you want, but he's not?
