I beg to differ with the above byline. I saw a biblical moment. When I first read this story a certain text of scripture immediately came to mind, which I see was demonstrated in this story. The text is this:
Phil 2:3-4
3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. 4 Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

This young woman Brittany did exactly this! She was able to recognize that there are things in life bigger than she is.
And, of course, another passage that came to mind was Mat 22:39 wherein Jesus taught to "love your neighbor as yourself".

I don't think there's much calm in hell but there is in the Prince of Peace. Sounds like he could be a Christian which would explain his calmness.
What's so incredible about this story is that he went through hell twice -- first to rescue three. Then as the fire burned hotter and hotter in spreading, he goes back a second time for the little 6-year old. This brave, selfless soul cared not a whit about his own safety but only for the safety of others.
