Super Bowl MVP Flacco does not suck!
The nfl has become a pass oriented league and you have Flacco in his 4th season completing under 60% of his passes.Ravens are heading into rebuild mode in 2 years, they have no explosive reciever, defense still good but getting old and Flacco stinks.

He was dreadful yesterday. The QB play throughout the league, as someone pointed out in another thread, has gotten significantly worse. Peyton is out; you still have Rodgers, Brady, Brees, Roethlisberger. Rivers used to be good but he has slipped this year. Freeman was good last year but he looks lost now. Flacco and Ryan have shown glimpses but they appear to have topped out. Newton has looked good so far, but a lot of that was playing from behind against soft defenses.

It seems like every team is having problems with their offensive lines this year.

I said it in another thread and will keep saying it until he makes me eat crow: the Ravens will never win a championship with him at the helm.

Two things about the Ravens:
1) they are a very tough playoff team and one you don't wanna play, because...
2) on their day they can beat anyone in the NFL
That game vs Jax was shocking and will stick in the heads of Baltimore fans, but we aren't even half way home...don't bury them yet.

I work near Baltimore in a very public location with many many Ravens fans transiting the location. Today's theme was "what the hell was that?"
Lots of criticism for Flacco too.

I don't think anyone is burying them. I can see them beating New Eng in the playoffs because their defense is much better than the Patriots. But they can't afford too many games like that from Flacco. That was monumentally bad.

No one seems to be giving the Jaguars any credit here. Their defensive secondary was blanketing the Ravens receivers most of the game. Flacco didn't have anyone to throw to. If the Jags could score any points they'd be a pretty decent team.

I've been waiting for a reply like this. Joe is a good QB behind a very average "O" line. Newly acquired wide out Lee Evans has been on the shelf since week 2. His replacement, Torrey Smith is a rookie who had a good game vs. the Rams and thats it. I also think Joe misses Todd Heap very much, although I was in favor of letting Heap go as he was oft injured. Heap was on the sidelines again this week with a hamstring injury.
If the team ever gets Evans back in the lineup and Ben Grubbs back at guard, and can somehow prevent Michael Oher from violating every rule in the book, they should be fine

It's one game they still have one of the best (maybe premier) defenses in the NFL. As the weather turns colder and the winds start howling this will play to their advantage.
But this is not good at least to me it's a very bad sign. I even agree with him but it should have been kept behind closed doors.

on a any given day the ravens can beat anybody. On most days they can beat most teams. But there are days where thet can lose to anybody. They have a one problem, in those games where they need their QB to win the game for them, it ain't happening. All teams have those games from time to time. When it happens to the ravens, they will lose.
The defense played great monday. It held the other team to field goals. That all you can ask of a defense. If Flacco was playing on a team with an average or poor defense, that team would be looking to draft a QB in the next draft.

I'm not endorsing him at all just saying stuff like that should be kept in house. It rarely helps a team to air dirty laundry.
This is a useless stat but since the Jets traded turmoil in the clubhouse Mason they are 2-0. They would have probably had the same record with him but one never knows. Kerley did have a few catches in the San Diego game.
Baltimore did win a Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer who I thought was awful at the time. I also have one cardinal rule which is once you win a Super Bowl as a quarterback there will be no more criticism from me unless it's really really deserved they get the benefit of the doubt every time.
Dilfer is brilliant on ESPN he's very knowledgeable and entertaining at least in what's left of my brain cells.

He just raised his personal appearance fee from 1k for 3 hours to 5k for 3 hours. He will do 90 minutes for 3500.

He rambles on and on way too much, with a flatulent sense of self-importance. But that's just my take on his studio presence; not saying you're wrong.
But then a lot of the ESPNers are wearing on me more than usual. If Chris Berman ever completes a sentence it will be his first time this century. TJ gets on riffs that end up at a place not on the radar when the riff begins. I give some allowances 'cause it has to be hard to come up with fresh angles when everything has been dissected ad nauseum throughout the week on all the various NFL shows, but still....I'm getting old and cranky, I guess. The current crop fails to impress.
