CD Wed, 11/16

A couple of entries at CD tomorrow caught my attention:

In the 6th race--a high-price ($150K) maiden claimer--Goldblooded is owned by Astros 3rd baseman Alex Bregman. Can't see me cheering for this horse, still holding a grudge for the Astros bouncing my Mariners out of the playoffs not to mention the lid-banging thing. But it's nice to see some baseball money coming into the horse world.

The favorite in the 7th race (Pledgeofallegiance) is trained AND owned by Steve Asmussen...and the jockey is Keith Asmussen, who shows a total of four mounts this year. Nephew, maybe?

Coming into the 4th, Keith Asmussen was 0-fer-18 at OP, but he booted home a 5-1 winner for The Coach. Guess KA just needed a decent trainer to ride for...instead of that no-winning bum who's mostly been giving him a leg up at Oaklawn.
