HorseStreet Phone Numbers

In case you get something weird when you call us, don't think we've gone away.

We're now up to about 150 robo calls a day and apparently nothing can be done about it.

Friday we had 11 calls in 15 minutes!

Struggling to get anything done.

So, if you call and it doesn't work, try email, here, or Facebook.

It's official.
We cannot answer the phones any more.

Let it ring and leave a message.

Averaging almost 25 an hour now.

Maybe the phonebook mixed up your number with Easystreet!

All the calls come in with either SPAM RISK, SPAM LIKELY, or the number is spoofed to some rural Nevada town.

Seriously some have populations of under 100.

31 calls since 2pm.

That sucks having a business where you have to answer strange phone numbers. Most of my business is conducted by e-mail originally and then their phone numbers go in my contacts. Occasionally the damn spammers will leave voice mails, but they are mostly hang ups. I only get 1-2 a day.

On those rare occasions when we accidentally answer a call, we suddenly get a big spike in calls for a few days, but never anything like this.

But get this...

I installed a blocker today and it warned it might take an hour or two for it to take effect thru my provider.

31 calls since 2pm.
And not a single one since.

How does a blocker determine the difference between a spammer and a potential customer?

Not a SPAMMER but a ROBO CALL.

It forces them to enter a 2-digit code.

Truth: I don't know if this is what it is doing because all our other phone numbers are known to the system.

I'd expect an uptick in voice mails because we're simply unable to answer the phone any more.

Welcome to the new age where anyone can cancel a small business if they are dedicated to it.
________

I've withstood a lot of haters over my years in this business because of my personality issues. Yes, I know I have them.

This is as good a time as any to come forward with this.

I am, as they say in today's vernacular, On the Spectrum.

Not joking.

I've even had people spoof off of my phone number, then people call to complain to ME. Then, of course, they don't believe me when I explain what is going on.

Maybe I should not confess to this, but about 40 years ago my girlfriend's brother committed the ultimate sin. He was supposed to go on an alcohol run
as he was the sober one at the party. He took a girl from the party with him,
he did not return till the next day. My revenge was getting him on every mailing list I could find. I would get trade magazines and send in those tear out cards requesting more information. I was an office manager for an electric wholesale house, so I was always getting solicitations. He lived in the mountains where you had to rent a P.O. box, where he lived it was a good 30
minute round trip to the post office.

The post office would call him almost daily telling him to get his mail. The funny thing is even after I broke up with his sister we remained friends for a couple years. I got constant feed back on his grief and he never had any idea who did him in.

You win.

One of us is going.

Since I've said for years that it is not my place to tell him how to run his forum, I assume that I'll be leaving.

I've already notified Mike.

The forum will be all yours.

Make sure to tell the people how you came to me and asked for me to intercede with Mike to let you come back.

You are a pathetic and small human being.
