Good drivers, much like jockeys, anticipate. Having a love for driving is a big part of it too. Using speed or downshift to get into a spot that always gives you an out, lane of least resistance, eyes that constantly shift from far ahead, to what's going on behind, and on side, usage of brakes in stopping traffic to leave a big enough gap ahead to control traffic behind for possible rear end collision are are traits that the best/safest drivers employ.

Driving pet peeves:

Braking for no reason.

Tailgating.

In fast lane just because you want to be there but should be two lanes over.

Drivers who maintain position ight next to another car of truck on freeway for long periods of time.

Prius in the fast lane

When my time comes, I go quietly, in my sleep, just like my Grandfather.
Not hollering and screaming, like the other peoples riding in the car with him.

esta!! viva la revolucion!!

driving pet peeve: people coming up the right (inside) lane and trying to squeeze in front of you (or the car in front of you) when there's only a car length betweeen you and the car in front of you.

you can't see there's six cars ahead of us and no one's going anywhere until the slowpoke up in front gets over?

Don't you know they're more important?

I sit back and laugh when seeing people using brakes for no good reason. I get a lot more life out of my brakes than most people. Another pet peeve is people who ride in others blind spots. We seem to think a lot alike, I am sorry I never met you before I fled California, as I think we could have been in the same places in the same time and been good friends.

Describes me perfectly.
Driving pet peeves:

Braking for no reason.
is a stopped Semi in your lane sufficient reason?
Tailgating.
Amen brother
In fast lane just because you want to be there but should be two lanes over.
Use the fast lane for passing, then get back over. Also, stay out of it if traffic is overtaking you rapidly. .
Drivers who maintain position ight next to another car of truck on freeway for long periods of time.

Prius in the fast lane
Not sure why this matters if it’s keeping up.

What about people who drive on the shoulder to avoid a backup, then force their way back in line. On the other hand, I have no problem with someone using the shoulder if traffic is stopped and they are exiting a hundred or so feet ahead. Just be cautious.

I’ve got another one. You’re at a stop sign. The cross road has no stop sign. Along comes an old couple, driving just fast enough that you can’t cross in front of them. Then they slow down, stop and wave you across. If they had just kept going you would have been across so much sooner.

You'd get ticketed regularly here in Texas then. There's a saying the DPS used to have, likely still do when it comes to speeding

9 you're fine, 10 you're mine (in regards to mph over limit)

When we moved out of Dallas County, to east Texas, my blood pressure improved immensely. Moreso for my wife. Driving in chaotic traffic is the main reason

My opinion is if you do not need to hit your brakes to make a turn, you need to get off the road.
