NASA Says Empire State Building-Sized Asteroid To Pass Earth Friday

A huge "potentially hazardous asteroid" about as wide as the Empire State Building's height is due to zoom past the Earth on Friday.

This asteroid, named 2008 OS7, is estimated to be between 690 and 1,570 feet across, according to data from NASA's Center for Near-Earth Object Studies (CNEOS). The Eiffel Tower is about 980 feet, while the Empire State Building is 1,250 feet tall.

Well, that's a relief....

At least it won't hit us, right?
You have faith in their calculations?

Not everyone is on board with science, ya know?

I've seen science.

What you talk about isn't science. It's bought and paid for, captured bullshit

I'm with George Carlin, root for the big asteroid to make things right.

I honestly thought it was something new that could go very wrong but in all likelihood would do as the story says. You people are something special.

as usual you make no sense.

I wasn't talking about the science behind the story that started this thread. I assume that science is correct. After all, you can't really blame global warming or racism on an asteroid from outer space...as much as I'm sure they tried.

That is an old theory, it is pretty obvious it was global warming from their farting methane and the methane coming off their crap piles. If cow farts are contributing to the warming of the planet a brontosaurus is the size of two dozen cows. So scaling up a cow that is a couple hundred pounds of crap a day.

Nothing like that, but if a part breaks off the smaller part may not follow the bigger part and burn off or not entering The atmosphere of Earth. So I posted it because it could be in the news.

It's more news than most posts, so there's that.
