Hopefully he gets enough out of the race,Soldat will be waiting for both Uncle Mo and Dial In,should be a good race, with Flashpoint maybe in the race it sets up a good solid Florida Derby.I thought Zito may have chosen a different race, again Zito has forgotten more then i will ever know.

First, his name is Dialed In.
"no you are imagining things.

Well, that hasn't really been the case lately. Super Saver had two 3yo starts and six overall. Mine That Bird had two 3yo starts and eight overall. The first four were all sprints. Big Brown had two 3yo starts, three overall. Street Sense had two 3yo starts, seven overall. Times, they are a changin'.

CJ,
That's all well and good. Can you please explain why the LaPenta/Zito camp decided to wait a week for an allowance race?
I'm looking for suggestions because I just don't get it.

I would assume they have the schedule mapped out and have for a while. Last week didn't fit the schedule. I imagine there will be one more race, the Wood, then the Derby if all goes well.

papered in the sense of racing in allowance races, not, running a horse x numbe rof times.
street sense got more out of his 2 starts in 07 than mucho macho man will get all year this year x 2 as long as he stays where he is for instance.

Some raced in tough spots, others didn't. I don't think it is much of a factor these days.

Agreed.
What counts, more than anything, is what you have "under the hood" May 7th. There is no set formula for getting your horse to peak on that day.

I think they got lucky. This race falls in the ideal place for their schedule. They don't want to ship yet and now they don't have to. Plus, he will be the only three year old to have faced elder competition. Maybe not as easy as one would think in early March. If there is anything of substance in the race, he might be a bet against. There is a reason these races are not usually written 3yo and up at this time of year.
