Hope everyone is safe, and we find a workable solution.

lets see what happens this Saturday with the Travers Stakes. if TIZ THE LAW burry's the field, like i hope he does, there won't be 20 horses going to post in Louisville.

I think it makes sense to me, this way the can combination quarantine and test to make sure that they have no issues as the approach the derby.
Most riders come in on the Monday before the derby, so its an extra week or so.
Bottom line is this is the price if you want to be in that jurisdiction.

I dont think there is going to be 20 anyways. You can hardly participate in any of the pre-race during the week activities as its limited or cancelled, its really down to the race and if you are not competitive there are much better spots. I think 14-15 seems about right.

Right.
The choice is between running a Derby under a bunch of inconvenient restrictions that people dislike, or not running the Derby at all.

Churchill has changed the requirement, jockey's must declare they intend to ride derby week (Sept 1-5) by August 18th and have had a specific test done, CDC gold standard RT-PCR Covid-19 nasopharyngeal test by the 24th, that will be the only accepted test and have to be in state by 11am the 31st so they can be tested and will be tested again on the 3rd.

This seems both more reasonable and possibly more effective. I'll try not to hold my breath...

one thing for sure, if you go to ride in Kentucky, you can't come back to Saratoga.
Manny Franco would never miss the Derby in a million years. i don't know if the rest of them want to go to ride there to run second.
i will be very happy for all the people associated with TIZ THE LAW if they win the Triple Crown. to me, it could be the only thing that has come out of the corona era that turned out good.

At this point I think JR goes where Gamine goes unless restrictions prevent him for doing so.

If you go to Kentucky, you have to quarantine 14 days before coming back to NY, and there a LOT of stakes in that time period.
I thought I heard on the "show" yesterday the top 3 riders are staying put and probably Saez as well.
