Harsh way to start the day...I was always friendly with Megan, though I can't say I knew her well. Got to know Coty Davidson a bit the last couple summers at Belterra.
Sad development, to be sure.

Very sad news. Geez, I thought everyone wore seatbelts anymore. Ejected out of the vehicle and 40' down over and overpass. Very scary.
On another note, does anyone know info on the Turfway ban on MVR shippers. I'm assuming its a virus, but I've not seen any details.

Quarantine at mvr all but official. 26 scratches (so far) today. More certain to follow.

Re: auto accident --
Really sad news about Coty Davidson. Wishing Megan Fadlovich a speedy recovery.
Re: quarantine --
That sucks. Was wondering why they had so many small fields today.
On a brighter note --
Kevin Radke got his first win as a trainer today. Is this the same Kevin Radke who used to be a jockey?
General comment --
Mahoning was running their races several minutes ahead of announced post times today.
With all the other tracks running today I didn't catch on until after I had been shut out twice.
Guessing if I got shut out - others did too.
Imo, the move had to have cost them some handle and purse money they otherwise could have realized.

Today was as fast a dirt track as you'll see. I'm assuming it was frozen.

Subjective label. From talking to several retired riders, frozen chunks on the surface flay back even though the surface is not solidly a piece of ice.

It still gets used, have it as recently as 11/18 of last year for Race 1 at Finger Lakes in my database. Mahoning Valley used it a few times in 2015. It is actually "FZ" in the Equibase coding.

Kyles Marigold ($10.20 race 5 yesterday)) exemplifies the value in recognizing what trips don't and do work at Mvr. The mare skittered wide last start to lose all momentum after near-collaring the leaders lower turn. That's the classic "Mahoning Mambo." (Watch for horses that gain stoutly on the turn, drop back between the pre-stretch and stretch calls, and then hold steady or rebid on the straight.)
To solidify her shot at faring much better yesterday, Kyles Marigold's form displayed more than enough speed to out-foot the three sluggish foes drawn inside her. And ground-saving trips on the pace did enhance some performances Wed.

Anybody here that can enlighten me as to why some of the Paolucci horses have gone from J Rad over to Faulkner?
