can he call on some speed early on? if not, he could be in trouble as well.

Might depend somewhat on the draw but I expect him to be pressing the leaders, sitting 5th or 6th at the 3/4 pole when he makes his move. He doesn’t seem like a push button type so probably can’t sit back much longer.

5th or 6th would be ideal. this looks like the best case scenario, doesn't it?...i mean. how confident can you be of this?.....whats the varying degree of worst cases?..wide does seem like a popular pick, and with pretty good reason.
then look at a horse like omaha. you know with almost no uncertainty where he'll be

The horse has always been back a bit in the first half and has always been within a couple lengths at the 3/4. I don't see reason this would change given what I expect to be a 1:11+ 3/4 fraction. He will have every opportunity to be where he needs to be. He's one horse that has finished well while going wide and only one of a few I'd still consider from an extreme outside post. Most prep winners this year had ideal trips or setups. Hoping he draws a post in the 6-10 range. JR knows where the CD winner's circle is located.

the line up is difficult to predict.,,even harder without knowing the posts..lol
well,..the first four or five horses are somewhat easy.
it's the stalkers/closers which is the problem.
you''re looking at around 10 horses here that could easily be spaced by 15L
outside of omaha..the other four members of the fab 5 should be here

it's weird how baffert can just subtly say that right after he shares how roadster and gw race plights.
i guess gw will be gunning.....at least ending up behind only a few horses.
but to say that about the trio might be bad news for any long shot with tactical speed in the race.

i don't see how any of his 3 will be in the first flight. let alone all 3
how can he say that.
if he pushes and wants it there might be some serious mayhem

gw or roadster has to be leaving here with ob out.
baffert can't say all 3 will be in the first flight without doing something...

There is not really any big speed inside the Baffert pair until maybe MS with Omaha out. If they want to get out and over then they should have an easy time of it.
