LARCENY IN INDIANA 10th TODAY

Stewards take the #6 down. No Inquiry flashing prior to jock objection. Not even any bumping in stretch. However, B.C. is trainer on #7 so I guess that is the reason #7 placed 1st. Now ready to hear lame excuses for placing reversal. To be fair, how about casting your vote for the steward's ruling, YA or NA and we will tabulate at 8PM EDT tomorrow to see if stewards were correct. Obviously I already voted "NA".

DQ

The jockey on the 6 horse struck the 7 horse in the face down the stretch. The steward came on and explained it in detail. Great job by them.

The question then is, Did the face whip impede the horse from winning? I did not see the brakes applied. I did not see momentum lost.

Might depend on the jurisdiction, I used to think this was the case, but I remember seeing this infraction left up at least one time. Been a long time since I've seen it happen though. This was a tough luck DQ as I don't think the runner-up was ever getting by.

Not the only race the stewards got wrong on today's card. Look at Race 8
# 2 (2-1) objection against the # 4 (12-1)... Look what happened around the final turn in the race replay. The # 4 ended up coming in first and # 2 lost, but not by much. I think the bumping going into the stretch run caused the loss.
I posted about this in the DQ / NON DQ thread earlier today.

Also had no response in the other thread regarding this.

Cool

Ah, I watched the 8th race twice and I agree with you . I did not see the #4 do anything to the #2. There was some shifting at the top of the stretch but no infraction(s) in my opinion. I agree with you on this one.

Ah, I watched it 6 more times and #4 never touched #2 ATS , just made a move to inside of #2. Stewards are very in -consistent. I assume certain trainers are good friends $$ with the stewards. Years ago in NY Migliore gets taken down, few races later JR stays up with same type of infraction. Pletcher said stewards need to be more consistent, seems that never happens.

So you started the thread by saying the stewards committed "larceny", then got IMMEDIATELY proven wrong as not only did the horse get struck in the face but the decision was exposed. Yet you don't even acknowledge this, you just go on whining about a different race. Sort of kills your credibility, doesn't it? At least man up and admit you were totally wrong in your original post.
