The Russian forces are weaker than expected, though they have a nearly
endless supply of reserve troops. The same problem that doomed Hitler, underestimating the size of Russia's army, will likely do the same here. Not only is the Ukraine army undermanned, they've gone as far as supplying its civilians with firearms to assist.
You won't beat down Russia by outlasting them. If you don't have an army of compatible strength, all the gifted arms on the planet won't save you. Without outside help, this is a losing blueprint on paper alone.
Conventional large scale warfare requires preparation. Having your civilians join your army is a sign of weakness and ill preparation. If another source of strengthening doesn't step up, Ukraine is doomed.
Large scaled conventional warfare is outdated. Its probably why operations on both sides appear sloppy and uncoordinated. Leadership on either side is clueless. The war is a disaster from all angles.

Putin thought this would only last 2 days with no resistance. Russia has been making big bucks on petroleum exports, but they do not have an endless supply of money.

It's almost like he was bad at his job...

Pro-tip: If you want your allies to increase spending to confront a adversary... don't also be ridiculously naive about said adversary.

exactly, after Joe's successful withdrawal from Afghanistan, NATO members can no longer rely on USA.

Cute.

I'm referring to the guy who said, "he [Putin] says, he didn't do it and why wouldn't I believe him?"

Same guy who called him a "genius" a week ago.

Deterrence.

Since we scrapped the Intermediate Nuclear Forces Treaty in 2019 we might as well...

The whole world is pretty pissed off and turning the to US for marching orders. This is the opposite of what Putin wanted and problematic for the Chinese whose ascendancy seemed inevitable. This shakes all of that up.

I posted this 4 years ago... guess I have Vlad himself to thank for it;

Trump called Angela Merkel out about her screwing her very own EU and NATO partners by secretly doing business with Putin per the pipeline. Germany is the powerhouse of the European continent and Trump got her dirty house dress all in knots when he exposed her for the dishonest dummy she was/is.

Biden, Macron, Boris, Brussels, and the rest of the euro trash didn't have the brains nor the ballz to say to say to Merkel what Trump said to her. And they all paid much less than their share in NATO obligations. Germany's promise to increase their NATO commitment this week is simply too late and way too little.

Only idiots call Trump naive. Trump always figured that Putin might someday make a move against Ukraine. But he thought that NATO would not let him. It is EU/NATO that was naive for not heeding Trump. Yes, sadly, Trump was wrong about the EU/NATO because they didn't do a single thing in all the years Putin made threats, especially the recent threats since Biden's surrender in Afghanistan last year.

And, never forget, the EU/NATO pulled the rug out from under Ukraine, lying to them all these years about protecting them from Russian aggression.

You are just as ignorant today as you were in 2015, 2016 ... 17... 18... 2022.

More examples of the great unifying theory of "**** that guy..."

Turkey has determined a War is being fought and in keeping with the the Montreux Convention is closing the Bosphorus and Dardanelles to all Russian Navy ships not registered with the Black Sea Fleet.

Now that ely is back:

thoughts on Biden giving intelligence on Russian troop buildups to the Chinese, and the Chinese promptly letting Russia know about it?

One can only wonder what you would be saying about that if Trump were president now.

Something tells me you wouldn't have failed to completely mention it up until this point...
