Fake News! MAGA FOR EVERYBODY!

But seriously hadn't seen that...

Thanks for sharing...

Durbin is also killing the idea of trading his DACA bill for a wall... Shutdown has to end first.

“First, President Trump and Senate Majority Leader McConnell must open the government today. Second, I cannot support the proposed offer as reported and do not believe it can pass the Senate.”

The Dems have assumed what Trump will offer today, and say they will reject it.

Quote:
Democrats signaled they’ll reject an offer expected from President Donald Trump to extend protections for so-called Dreamers for three years in exchange for $5.7 billion in funds for border security as a way to reopen the federal government.

As well as protections for Dreamers, young people brought to the U.S. illegally as children, Trump is also expected to propose extending the visas for Temporary Protection Status holders, though it’s unclear for how long, said a person familiar with Trump’s plan.

The optics won't support the dems here. I suspect that's the whole point of Trump's gambit.

The optics support whatever partisans on either side of the aisle want them to support. The Dems want the government opened before they will negotiate. Trump wants negotiations before opening the government. Each will say the other is unreasonable and refusing to negotiate.

I'm guessing the whole thing will end up in court.

Exactly...

Would probably have worked a lot better if we weren't hitting day 30 before trying it out... if it wasn't widely reported Republicans have been asking him to do this for weeks...

Its pretty baked in at this point so I can't see this moving the needle at all...

The shutdown has been hurting Trump more than anyone else and there's blood in the water... Democrats know that.

Optics 101
Unannounced swearing in ceremony of LEGAL immigrants in the WH. In the Oval for the first time ever.

Good speech about how REAL Americans are one people under one flag.
An American family.
