BEST-FIVE CONSENSUS DEL MAR SUNDAY

Would normally just play these in the Horse Tourney Ex Box contest (last 8 races-starts with race 4). I've won a few just using the Best-Five Consensus straight off the program.

Being the innovative genius I am ...I can't leave well-enough alone. I used selections from a new Pace method I'm working on. The buy-in is 12 bucks for the contest...so I can afford to experiment. I've noticed many winners of these things hit one lucky huge exacta, and take the pot.

I may get lucky--or can just as easily wiff on all 8 races. These are the 3 selections per race (DM races 4 to 11) my new pace method came up with:

HORSE TOURNEY RESULTS SUNDAY

*First--the bad news: I didn't win

.
The good news: I came in 2nd--with 45 entries, 2nd place paid a nice $94.07. I will gladly take that

If I had used the BEST-FIVE selections-(as I normally do) instead of my new pace method, would have finished 2nd anyway.

Using the Best Five selections in the exacta tournaments has been a very strong play. Separately, I've also been been playing trifecta boxes with the Best Five selections and then also keying the top selection over the other two and have been regularly hitting a couple of trifectas per race card and often cashing a second time when the top selection comes in on top.

PRESQUE-TOP-2-PLATINUM-POWER

Thanks for the input Tor & Bob. Almost forgot PRESQUE ISLE is starting up again. Did pretty well their last meet...see if we can continue that lucky streak.
Good luck

PS: Just read Presque has cancelled ....oh well

Congrats Greg! How cool is that, a guy sells his inexpensive software, posts his picks(a lot), wins contests, and is always looking to improve his product. Sounds like a winning model for a business plan.

Are you also related to Dr. David Banner?

LOL...yep, that's me, Trace. When I joined this forum--I didn't want to intimidate or "big league" anyone, so I changed my name.

Speaking of Presque Isle...heck is going on there? I wager through XB, and all it said on the site was "Racing is cancelled".

Now they have completely delisted PID...no results or any mention at all. I went to the PID site, all they mention is the property has been acquired by the Churchill Downs conglomerate. Probably some legal beef with paying for the signal, etc. Horse racing fans be damned.

Presque DID in fact, race today. I got results from the Bris site:

There seems to be many beefs going on with several tracks at the racebooks in NV. Here in Vegas, at the racebook I frequent, there are many tracks that I wagered on last year that are not available now. What the hell's going on? Is it just the racebook I go to, or is it the hub itself. I blve it must be the hub can't get the contracts signed with these tracks because they can't come to financial agreements.

Was looking at EVD with the Platinum Program...and MARYWOOD 5-1 ML in the 7th, sort of stood out. How I 'cap with Platinum--a horse I may be interested in, I circle the stats/ratings of everything the horse is 1st of 2nd ranked in.

This is actually not an easy race to pick a winner...plenty of solid contenders, who figure to take most of the betting.

That leaves MARYWOOD to go off at a decent price--and her numbers say she should be a definite player. Whether she runs to her numbers remains to be seen.

This is what handicapping with Platinum is all about. Trust the ratings, get a price, and realize you will lose a lot more than you'll win. The idea is to insure more return than losses by insisting on value.
