IRS is sure a pain in the ...

I, like many others, have fallen on hard times and was unable to pay my fully due incomes taxes on time. For the first time since the 1960's, I might add.

So after putting it off, I finally called IRS three weeks ago and set up a payment plan (to avoid further IRS problems) thru automatic deduction from my bank account. The "processing fee" was to be $52.

Imagine my surprise to be put on a monthly voucher plan with a "processing fee" of $105! After being "on hold" for over an hour the agent answering the phone said I had no reason to be upset. God, as if I nothing better to do than deal with them.

No wonder Romney gets away with paying so little - I don't think anyone at IRS knows what the hell they are doing. Perhaps I am a damn fool for always paying my honest taxes. I've never had to deal directly with the IRS before - and with luck will never have to do so again!

I think it is very telling that since he released his 2011(?) tax return where he paid several mil in fed tax and gave $4-5 mil in donations, that his return has become a non-issue.

U can't be serious

Questions.

1. Why would you join this site and have THAT as your first post?
2. Would you like to see 'how little' Romney pays in comparison to you?

Perhaps he paid zero taxes! Of course, we have no

way of knowing. Romney has 3 years to amend the 2011 return which, according to experts, would result in an adjucted tax rate around 9% as he underclaimed his donations - for obvious political reasons.

Seeing the reaction to my "vent" it may well be three more years before I post here again.

Good, God. Are you all so serious? I guess I need to post on a much looser blog.

Welcome aboard Templar. don't let them run you off.

They don't like dissenting opinions. They prefer an environment where they can all just whine and e-high five each other.

The best way to deal with them is to post more. They hate that.

You can't take a few comments that are questioning your view(s)?

Having de horse 90210come to your defense is a big negative here among the more enlightened members of this forum.

Come back soon; like in 3 years with 5 more posts.

I don't need anyone to "come to my defense". I just like to hang out where individuals can openly express their views without having to follow a pre-determined "party line".

You are merely proving his point!

What you do not "get" is that your problems with the IRS are a valid topic for discussion if anyone here wants to offer opinions or guidance in your dealings with them.

Dragging Mitt Romney into your discussion about your personal issues with the IRS is a cheap shot at best. As I said earlier, since you threw him into the mix, is that there has not been one single post that I can recall regarding his tax return since his payout and contributions were made public.

I'd be "pissed off" too.

(P.S. Romney has nothing to do with your problem. It's Obama's Government that did that to you.)
