I joined this second HSH group, and have been sharing thoughts with the members for about two weeks now. We have definately progressed as a group, and Dave has given his time and support liberally.
I've enjoyed the exchange between the users, and their assorted views on handicapping/wagering with HSH tools. The group is available on Skype 24-a-day; we can share documents, and call others in the group as needed.

Newbie
I am a newbie to HSH and being a member of group #2 has forced me to pay close attention to what is being posted on SKYPE because through this interaction I am getting up to speed on the unique language of HSH. The set of webinars given every 2 weeks by Dave has sharpened and sped up my knowledge of pace handicapping.
My aim, like everyone else, is to 'cap in the BLACK

I second that...
I joined the group two that Dave spoke about. So far, it's been a pretty positive experience.
I've gotten more out of the interaction with the other members than I would have expected. Further, there are many different perspectives which provides both new ideas to explore as well as short cuts on how to get there. I am far, far from where I need to be, but with the help of this interaction, I'm gaining ground much more quickly than I could possibly have done so on my own.

I'm in this group too and I'm trying to figure out who everyone is above as we use our real names in the Skype group.
I have to say I really think that joining this group is the final piece of the puzzle to put me over the hump to long term and consistent profitability.
There are two distinct advantages over a board like this. Firstly someone will reply to a question almost instantly most of the time and if you don't understand the reply or they misunderstood the question you can strike up a converstion to really get to what you want to know. The group has been formed around people who want to make it work. You won't get people who open up a clearly titled thread, scroll down three pages of posts and gleefully tell you they have absolutely no interest in this topic at all.
I also can't underestimate the fantastic boost you get from the back and forth from people striving for the same thing. Most of us have friends or aquaintances who play the horses but often they are either set in their own ways or casual fans who draw you into trying to win the race rather than the game.
Lastly I have to admit I'm a bit of a Dave Schwartz fan. His passion for this intelectual game is infectious and his mentorship of the group invaluable to my handicapping progress. I couldn't recommend it more highly for anyone thinking of forming one.

Great idea
Why not test out at Mountineer under selections to post in your group.

I will echo the above statements and say that I have found the HSH2 group to be a good place to learn from kindred spirits. Questions are answered either straight out or the right direction is pointed to. Big-big time saver! Like a safety net. "Try it, you'll like it."

Okay, so in terms of "groups" we're 2-for-2.
If you guys aren't in a collaboration with at least one other person plus a leader, find this. If you use software - go to the guy who produces the software and say, "Please form a group."
I will be starting another group in a couple of weeks. This next group is for "Beginners Only" and is aimed at people who just feel they need more help with our software.
Regards,
Dave Schwartz

At this time, this does not fit the purpose of the group.
What we are planning is our first of many "live play sessions" as a group. These are great fun, and very instructive. I have done several with the original group.
It is like going to the races online with several other players, sharing picks, etc.
