His points were always well thought out and made sense whether you agreed with him or not. I complimented him one time on an article he wrote when he worked at the Washington Post and he graciously sent me a lengthy email reply thanking me. We need a few (many) like him in Washington.

A very sad loss for lovers of good, reasoned thinking and discussion. I really admired his writings I've seen over the last 30+ years.

Glad the Nationals did that...I always looked forward to what he had to say and will miss him and his commentaries. I also need to read his book one of these days. Surprised he never authored more than a handful of books.
