Especially those being brought here illegally by selfish, abusive, neglectful parents.

God, reading about what they put these kids through trying to get to the USA is a horror story.

But you'll sit here and complain about how terrible it is for the kids ONCE THEY GET HERE?

Wow. What a bunch of turnip truck rubes you guys are.
You don't know anything about what I do to help kids except what I post here. But I post here to point out all the bigotry and prejudice that is posted.

As far as a dangerous journey, all you have to do is to look at the founding of this country. Jamestown in 1607 which was founded after the failed attempt at Roanoke in 1585. Or the Pilgrims landing in 1620. And all the other Europeans that followed. Do you think those parents should have been punished for bringing those children across the Atlantic in fairly small sailboats. I'm sure some of them sank. Hell, the Titantic sank. Airplanes crash. Trains crash. Cars crash. Life is dangerous. Sacajawea dragged a newborn across the country on horseback, in a canoe, and on foot. Was she just another working mom or an American hero?

People who were willing to make that difficult journey to the new world are now celebrated as brave pioneers. And that goes right back to the Machiavelli quote I posted earlier about the means justifying the ends:

"Moreover, in the actions of all men, and most of all of Princes, where there is no tribunal to which we can appeal, we look to results. Wherefore if a Prince succeeds in establishing and maintaining his authority, the means will always be judged honourable and be approved by every one."

Those early settlers are the princes. Sure, the Native Americans who were conquered may not feel the princes were honorable. In the end, the King of England did not feel the American Colonialists were honorable, but those colonialists are celebrated today. Just as the Cubans who escaped on rafts and made the trip to the U.S. are celebrated for escaping from Castro's grip. Many women and children made that dangerous journey across 90 miles of open water to escape poverty and oppression for a chance at better life in America.

The quality in people who are willing to sacrifice everything to escape oppression to come to America is what makes America great. Most of those people are hard workers -- probably harder working on average than the average person born in America. Because the immigrants are driven to build a better life than what they know is possible.

That's why what happened in the early colonial days is completely relevant to what is going on today. Same story. Different people.

There are a bunch of these pics available to anyone.

Excerpt:

The outrage has struck some reporters as peculiar, particularly since there was abject silence and a lack of outrage when the Obama administration treated illegal immigrants in a similar fashion.

Barack Obama deported more people than any president in history and reached a record number — 97,000 — of criminal prosecutions in 2013 for illegal border crossings. Breitbart Texas reporter Brandon Darby toured detention facilities under the Obama administration.

“’Cages’ — The chainlink partitions in the holding facilities at border are the exact same ones we showed you during the Obama Admin. Why didn’t you care then?” Darby tweeted this weekend as the outrage raged over Trump’s use of detention facilities. Darby followed up with a series of photos of the facilities that he published in 2014:

I’m sure you really care.

One of the two the ACLU is defending crossed the border illegally.

By the way, you know what happens to American children whose parents are put in jail? They’re forcibly separated from their kids.

Much ado about not much.

Who is to blame for this heartless policy, and why is no one protesting it?

Over 20,000 children a year are put into foster care because their American parents are taken to jail, 10 times the number of those separated when illegal immigrant parents try to sneak into the U.S. but are caught, according to a commissioner on the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.

However, unlike the congressional outcry over President Trump’s zero-tolerance policy targeting illegal immigration, there has been no mass protest of or investigation into the separation of children from those in jail.

I’m constantly amazed at the people who liken illegal aliens today with those who moved to a new country. No, it’s not the same. At all. It’s 300 million people later, and decades and centuries later, and it’s after a country has been established for a long time and has border and immigration laws.

EVERY land was first established by “immigrants”. We are not special in that regard, nor are we any more beholden to immigrants than any other land in the world. So stop with the nonsense.

Liberals care about foreigners into this land because they want to capture their future votes. That’s all.

This is the logical fallacy:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whataboutism

"Whataboutism" (also known as whataboutery) is a variant of the tu quoque logical fallacy that attempts to discredit an opponent's position by charging them with hypocrisy without directly refuting or disproving their argument,[1][2][3] which is particularly associated with Soviet and Russian propaganda.[4][5][6]

It deals with diverting an argument (always when you are losing), and are forced to admit to yourself, "Man, I sure look like shit", to anything else, even remotely related, and even if you must pull it out of your ass.

For instance:

What about the heartless no caring ability to compartmentalize one's conscience, away and separate from one's politics?

Or,What about having a pathological liar as preznit and his cabinet of dithering fools?

The story at this link https://www.cbsnews.com/news/immigra...-into-america/ talks about a rancher in Texas who set up a water station on his ranch to help immigrants. Although, it sounds like the immigrant's trip get much tougher once they get to the U.S.

You may not like to hear it or you may not want to believe it, but white males are born with a huge advantage whether you like it or not.
This will come as a surprise to you, apparently, but life isn't fair, nor will it ever be.

Exactly! This is also why, they're not in favor of a merit-based immigration system. The Dems want to broaden the welfare base (and state) in this country by creating a permanent underclass. They want people to come here to "game the system"; for it's these kinds of people who would always vote Democrat.

Also the new immigrants were not given handouts and government services at the expense of those that already lived there. Also the new immigrants didn't send up to half the money they earned back to their homeland, they were not a drain on the economy.

Nice post, you hypocrite. You whine about fact-free posts, then ignore one that hits a bullseye.

First you dodge the FACTS clocker posted then you insult Trump.
Doing exactly the thing you just talked about!

But he is right, you don't give a crap about those illegals or the citizens kids. ALL you are here for is to attack Trump. Pretty disgusting using kids caught up in the democrat-s*hole for political arguments. Pretty disgusting.

Meanwhile, Upchuck Schumer and his band of American -rejects block any solution to the situation by refusing to sit down and negotiate.

You and your elk are evil people.

It is a distinction without a difference, but you maintain without proof that there is a difference.
