Been going through a ton of pages here on this thread. A lot of positive feedback but are most just using it for your pacing? Just curious what people expected from this when they purchase.

I'll still on occasion do my usual handicapping, but I use Best~5 and Platinum in combination to nearly eliminate traditional handicapping on days when I don't have time or just can't be arsed. I'm a proud $2 bettor, a happy low-roller. Occasionally I'll drop some "big bucks" (like $400 on the Derby. Return? $420! I made $20 and was ecstatic! Just missed the superfecta) and I love the 10 cent superfecta. I use Best~5 and Platinum to find new ways to squeak out a little profit on this game without having to do too much work. The latest trick, (sorry, "method") is with the 10 cent supers. Find a track that Best~5 works on consistently, run both Best~5 & Platinum on the same card, compare the 2 as with my Exacta method. Any race that has 3 horses in common between the 2, AND has 1 horse on the Platinum list that's not on Best~5 is a bet. You can either box the 4 horses (3 from Best~5, 1 from Platinum) or bet the 3 from Best~5 as your 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and the 1 from Platinum as the 4th. Depending on the track, you can show a nice little profit. I've shown a profit over 100 races on certain tracks. Which tracks, you ask? Figure it out! That's the fun! You'll need "deep pockets" for this one, I've gone 50 races without a hit, so it takes patience, but it can be worth it. Remember, this is a GAME! Have fun!!

Exactas
Floyd is your exacta method still working well?
Seems like you have a few things worked out between Platinum and Best 5.
I applaud you.

When I use the software, that is the only thing I look at. Best 5 and pony pickers. Don't look at any of the ratings, just do the picks on certain categories.

GREG...send me an email from your usual email account. The last email I got from you was from an address I have never seen before, and for obvious reasons, I'm not going to trust it.

LOL....thanks Mike. I have so many emails because none of them work! I'm good to go now....was getting ready to get some sleep, suddenly not sleepy.
I've had a bad year--cussed out a bunch of people, threatened to get my metal softball bat and break someone's face. Wasn't my wife, either.
But all is right in the world. Just got an email (well, he sent it over a week ago--just now seeing it)--from my buddy Gene back east. He nailed pick-3's,4's,5's and of course--the pick-6, sometime around the Derby (which I didn't see).
Was working on a new "Miss Platinum" .. got a couple top notch programmers gonna do some work--soon as I figure out what to do.
BTW......remember PLATINUM finished tied with "Lucky Chan" for 4th place in PRN's annual "TOP 10 HANDICAPPING TOOLS OF THE YEAR? -last year?
I'm delighted to announce, this year BEST-FIVE finished in 3rd place FOR THE YEAR. Lucky Chan be damned. I think I even beat Pandy---he was somewhere back in the pack...eat my dust, Pandy-man.
Seriously, Pandy's forgotten more about horse racing than I'll ever know
True story: I needed one good play--I looked everywhere, all my back issues of Phillips Racing News...just couldn't find one that would fit-in what I was trying to do.
I got the idea to ask Pandy if he might let me in on one of his tried and true plays.
He looked at me like I was crazy.

Platinum Users, NCG used to talk about his "Ducks". You just hit the #1 & #2 power button and bet anything with good odds. What you consider good odds is up to you, but I usually take 8/1 ML and up. Today playing LAD, in the 4th race it had #7 at 8/1 ML odds. The horse paid $61.20 21.00 6.20.
And had another duck in the 7th that went off at 20/1 and ran 2nd $11.60 7.60

Go back to talking about Best 5 lol. Tracked a day last week but have to catch up to see how it goes but looks like a lot of value playing just consensus over 4-1/5-1 but not very consistent

Consensus plays are just that, a combination of all the methods which will usually point you toward the favorites. Be careful of the plays with maidens or too many lightly raced horses, there just isn't enough data. You can't just play all of the consensus plays, your job is to figure out which ones are the good ones.

I tracked all of them to find some patterns but was vacant this weekend so have to catch up. It’s definitely right on the short odds horses when in consensus but trying to find nice info long term.
