I said earlier that attacks on civilian merchant shipping is a bridge too far.
Freedom of Navigation is something we've swore to uphold. It's too large of a breaking of the rules and required some sort of response.
That is no different than Obama chucking his Syria redline.
I'm not sure striking Iran proper is/was the right move. Maybe blowing up some IRGC camps somewhere. I sure as hell don't support ignoring it and calling it "some very minor things" like the President did.

Schindler's List
Oskar Schindler: Power is when we have every justification to kill, and we don't.
Amon Goeth: You think that's power?
Oskar Schindler: That's what the Emperor said. A man steals something, he's brought in before the Emperor, he throws himself down on the ground. He begs for his life, he knows he's going to die. And the Emperor... pardons him. This worthless man, he lets him go.
Amon Goeth: I think you are drunk.
Oskar Schindler: That's power, Amon. That is power.

Totally different.
Trump never promised to protect shipping lanes.
Obama specifically drew the pink line and backed down.
It is not over yet.....you don't punt on second down.

I am with you on some of it, President Donald J. Trump kinda did when he raised his hand and took the oath of office. So I do agree with you that it is not over yet. But also agree with Mike that he has been hamstrung by the degenerate left (my use of wording not Mikes). This President has unjustly been hurt by leftist courts in the travel ban and other attacks by the liberal lower court. Should Iran fire on our ships or our obligations to protect Nations we have agreements with resulting in a loss of life he has the unconditional authority to respond within 48 hours without the Congress and its approval. In short they fire on us he can destroy their whole Navy in one day and there is nothing Nancy Pelosi can do about it. This is just something that is going to have to play out. Because he is hamstrung he has many around him advising exactly what the correct measured response is, and the next action by Iran may mean taking into consideration as part of the measured response the next infraction merits plus what they just did. Should Iran strike by proxies lets say Israel and they go to war with Iran we would have no option to back them up, new technology will be used that will make Iran wish that they never were a country. This is really coming to a head in a ugly way, but the truth is we have all the cards and this is fixed to the point they can not prolong anything or win.

That would be a backwards move, I think the thought of a new deal is a farce. I don't really think that we are looking for a new deal, making deals with terrorists is like expecting cockroaches to not do their thing.

Nuclear weapons were not the main reason for breaking the deal.
Under the deal Iran was unable to get weapons for years... now they say they'll begin enriching beyond reactor levels in 2 weeks.

Yes the United States actively withdrew from the world stage under Obama...
Obama was bad at foreign policy but this is self-imposed retreat.
The President literally invited a more expansive and aggressive Chinese Navy... what could go wrong?

My God man the the heck are you smoking?
Iran is now dangling by a thread and that thread is about to snap leaving them in a total failed downward spiral. They are caught in the crosshairs desperately trying any and all bazaar solutions for a way out.
