But it depends on your "mix".

I have used Bet mix on several occasions and found that you were limited as to how many races you could use for any specific mix.
The product was progressively updated but stopped and has not been updated or improved for quite some time
Dave Williams, the provider was very accomadating and helpful and would work with you.

Occasionally, I would hit a "bomb". However,
It was not consistent enough for me to successfully bet on my win criteria and odds
requirements. I am a win bettor and bet just one win horse per race if I get my required odds on a specific horse.
I will say, I enjoyed using it but it did not give me what I needed.
I am now exploring my own database analysis using some obsolete and long gone software. I normally model just one or two tracks.

That is the point of Betmix. The mix I used had the winner in the top 3 75% of the time and the top 4 84%. This was over the last 80 races of that type i.e Turf Alw. for the 8th and Turf claimer for the 9th. The mixes narrow down the contenders.

I use Betmix mainly for all the back data it provides and allows you to manipulate. It has data going back to 2012.

One of my quick handicapping plays, in the race below #4 #7 and #9 all show early speed. I now look for an off the pace horse. In this case, I did have the winner at 13.20 and no it doesn't always work out that way.

Attachments are from Betmix data show how the race should set up and the results.

I have found that if you learn to set your odds criteria, determine what your acceptable return should be, use a good database and know how to hedge or dutch your bets you will achieve success,
Here is an example of a recent dutch bet I mage recently, I invested a total of 16 dollars for win and place.

The bottom line is do you keep betting records and have you increased your BR using Betmix. It does look like an interesting program...

When you have a model set up you can wait for the scratches and then you let your model dictate your contenders. I normal look for my top 2 or 3. Then I play the track live and use a good ( Hedge, Dutch ) software.
I look for a 200% return on any bet that is not hedged. In other words, I look for longshot situations. I pass a lot of races. I play one or two tracks at most.

Longer than that. I picked the toughest race I could find.

Belmont Sunday, June 16th 9th race.

For those who are interested, the picture posted by fmazur features both the Score and the mix associated with the score factors. In this case, the Score is straight out of the box and is composed of the factors listed: L Fin, Lengths, Speed Last, and Class Diff. This is a good starting point for Betmix. You can also use the database feature to check the ROI for Score and the individual Score factors. I am curious as to what the ROI would be for horses with top 3 Score, Top 3 mix based on the score factors and a Score of less than 100. Of these elements, the first and third ones are easy to find for various conditions. The actual mix can only be determined for small sets of races (if I remember correctly).

The wins and pays $78.00. This mix was right out of the box. The was the only scratch, but I doubt that would have had much impact on the mix score. For me, the race was unplayable regardless of handicapping tool because of the presence of four FTS, but will a nice example of what Betmix can do.

You are really talking about 2 different things. It's nice that BetMix had the horse ranked 3rd.

But then you need a betting strategy that would have included this horse in your bets. Today if my betting strategy included a horse my program ranked 2nd I would have made $122.

We don't always play what our program spits out because our betting strategy says NO.

If you downloaded the BRIS Race Summary for that race you get the same horses listed in almost the same order. This is a good way to search for longshots. If a longer priced horse is in the top 4 , consider them.
