Texas joins other states, no pistol permit required
It seems most states will not require a permit for conceled carry. Today Texas and tomorrow Alabama, who here sees the trend because of higher crime and will it carry in our next election?

Beto O'Rourke is on the ballot in Texas, just looking for the numbers.

Old news. Months old.
I still have a permit that’s good for 2 more years. It is accepted as government ID here. So I hold on to it.
Nothing has changed from what I can see………
Lots of States do it now.
See the map below: all the green states (no matter the shade) are without permits I.e. Constitutional Carry
Constitutional Carry and Shall Issue to Residents Only:
Alaska, Georgia, Montana, Wyoming
Constitutional Carry and Shall Issue to Residents and Non-Residents:
Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia
Constitutional Carry and Does Not Issue Permits:
Vermont
For the record: Since the Supreme Courts ruling “Bruen” all states are Constitutional Carry-but some have not changed their laws yet

Maybe it's time that "concealed carry" becomes "uncovered carry" be put to use much more often.

Unless you are crazy to begin with.
Needing a permit to operate a motor vehicle but not to carry a handgun?…Stupid crazy.
LE’s will die because of this.

Here in NH I see alot of open carry in many cases less than one mile to the Massachusetts border in the Market Basket supermarket. I like to see it, but I always carry concealed. I view concealed as advantage, a tough spot might be a time to not. Meaning just because you can does not equal you should. The advantage also includes the best gear you can afford and keen awareness of everything that moves. My thought about posting was in part about Beto in Texas and the next election cycle.

Actually, I meant more than just 'uncovered carry.' How about *use* carry? Too much violence going unchecked!!

So I really can't speak to that, every part of the country is different somewhat. Bad things happen to good people everywhere by strange people. To that I would say that I am unlikely to see it, we have gangs driving up from Lowell who are into the drug trade. My encounters with that stuff is very remote, others might be marked for being old or something. Very sad, but not a cowboy who looks for it. So I am a very unlikely mark, I will see you first and notice odd right off. Maybe I am close to what you are refrencing, maybe not.

I think a person who carries openly is a mark if someone is thinking of pulling something. More people allowed to conceal should cut down on violent crimes. The perp has to think who could be packing. That is why I think any school employee should be allowed to conceal if trained. Make them pass minimum law enforcement range standards.
