LUIS SAEZ SUSPENDED FOR 15 DAYS!!!!
Ladies and Gentlemen:
the ultimate salvo has been fired by Churchill Downs
I believe this is a major insult to the thoroughbred owners, trainers, and Jockeys both in the U.S. and perhaps to overseas interests who
ship to America for various high-level races.
There is no need to repeat what we all know and stated in this forum.
Who knows, perhaps Mr.Trump may intervene, and I am not being sarcastic

This is silly. Saez was all over the racetrack, and his lawyers tried to blame another horse for it. And no, the President has no power to change the result of the Derby. Only the KHRC can do that.

luis Saez
Silly? in my world this is insane ;
Show me the last DQ in the KY Derby (except for a Drug DQ) in the past 50 years for ANY horse in the Derby fields during that time frame.
The, Go to the charts of non-Derby races 50-75 years and show me how
many DQ's were made on fast/wet muddy surfaces or grace racing. Perhaps
there are about 100?
I have to believe this case goes to the Racing Commission and/or
higher judicial levels.
Perhaps the president jumps into the mix as he already fired the first salvo

Talk about adding insult to injury. Damn. It's not enough he lost the Derby by DQ, but they're going to pile on more penalties?
Another reason for me to not bet the Derby and to be reminded why I vowed several years ago to never to return to CD. Petty, bush league retaliation.

Show me an infraction in any Kentucky Derby over the last 50 years that was as bad as the one that Saez and Maximum Security were responsible for.
Not just you, NY BRED, either. Anyone that posts here and claims "it happens in every Derby." Please post your examples here.

I don't see that he got any, at least there's nothing on the steward's website about. Then again, I don't recall hearing that he sent an attorney to present "evidence" that Positive Spirit caused her own trouble.
http://khrc.ky.gov/Pages/rulings.aspx
The only other ruling in May is David Cohen getting fined for submitting false information on his license application.
Also of note among the rulings is the 3 day suspension for Tyler Gafflione on April 25th for careless riding.

A horse went down due to Jj s mount going straight left at the break-someone should gets days-Franco could have been seriously hurt

True, but if I were Trump and believed what he said then I'd invite Saez, Servis, and West to the White House for the unofficial winner's ceremony. That would be some funny stuff.

Can't object to the idea of JJ getting days for that incident. But maybe he went in to the stewards on Thursday morning apologetic about what happened and convinced them somehow that he took it seriously enough that they were satisfied with just the DQ as punishment.

That would be so counterproductive.
Lord knows I think the Wests have very little chance in their court challenge, but if you are going to do it, you have to stay completely out of politics. You shut up and go to court and let your lawyers speak for you.
If a court thinks this is a politically charged case and that the Wests might show up the court and any ruling it may make, the chances of victory will swiftly go from 1 or 2 percent or whatever it is to zero.
