The way he waited in the LA Derby and then exploded through that hole, splitting those horses and then digging in to win was impressive.

Dam's Sire: AWD 5.8


Doesn't scream a mile and a quarter does it.

I kinda think this one is like General Quarters oor Java's War, just a random horse that won a big prep that will be no factor what so ever n the derby. at this point total toss.

By the same token, summing up the horse's botttomside pedigree by the dam's racing record isn't exactly much better.
Vekoma's dam was a G1 sprinter, but I like to see sprinting ability / speed in a horse's pedigree because sprinting past others in the stretch is pretty useful IMHO. That's how Zenyatta always did things. W/out that sprinting speed (which was obvious in her early races) no way she gets by everyone like she did.
