One of the great features in the Best 5 Program is the easy to use "Top E1/E2" sorting button to look for nicely priced horses in sprints, just now at Del Mar Race #6, the #9 horse Righteously, Top E1/E2 horse, 15-1 ML, was up to 35-1 minutes before post, went off at 20-1
Righteously
paid $42.00... $15.60... $7.60

Tor is correct and another good option is Greg's EPOWER button on his Platinum program. The top EPOWER number of the entire CT card last night won and paid $15.40.

RIGHTEOUSLY stood out in several ways, Phil. I'm glad you had him! He topped PLATINUM on Speed Blast Rating (more on that in a minute)...AND he had a Power Number - which means, as you know... he qualified on basic handicapping fundamentals.
I have a maiden play for horses in their 2nd lifetime race. If he showed good speed early in his first race (no matter where he finished) and is back right away at a price-he's probably a play. RIGHTEOUSLY was back in 8 days since last out, so he easily qualified on that play as well.
Good lookin' out, Phil

Heya Slim...heck ya been, man? I didn't have the Bris data for CTX, so thanks for pointing that out
You can also use the SPEED BLAST rating as well as E-POWER in Platinum.
I did a several-week study on 1Mile races, basically looking at 1mile as just a long sprint. I kept records on how often the top Speed Blast horse won, and found that if the top horse has a 5pt gap to the 2nd highest rating and was a decent price, with a Power Number--it was worth a bet.
For example here was the 4th from Del Mar yesterday:
***Notice the top-4 Speed Blast horses ran 1-2-3-4

Greg - Race #3 today at Del Mar had another Top E1/E2 price horse with a power # rating (P2), Prince Ricky, 15-1 ML, went off at 39-1 and ran second, paid $22.60 place . . $10.40 show. I didn't bet it straight (dummy!) I had him in my exacta box but I couldn't find my way to the horse that won. Have to keep an eye out for these spot plays.

Yeah I saw that. There was another horse in the 2nd - SHOOTIN MONEY 10-1 that was a perfect fit spot play. Unfortunately, as usually happens when you get all giddy about a horse--he didn't even hit the board.

BEST-FIVE CONSENSUS DEL MAR SUNDAY
For the heck of it--I made quinella boxes out of the 1st, 4th, 8th, and 10th....at the last minute added in the 7th race Q-box.
Good luck

Once again... the PLATINUM Top Speed Blast @ 1mile won the 10th race at Del Mar:
OSTINI $28.40 on top w/an 11 pt gap to the 2nd highest speed blast.

Dang it Greg that #4 Ostini cost me about a hundred dollar double by beating my #1 at the wire. Whomever may have had him with the previous horse (#4) were gifted with a nice double for $206.00..
--Anyway, that is an excellent angle. If you check out Canterbury for today (07-13) Race #6 on the Turf at a mile there is a nice one in there. The #2 Omen of Change at 15 to 1 M/L could be interesting. He is 2 for 6 for 2020. Could be set to pop another good one.
He is (1) Top Power, Top Spd Blast by 5 points, #1 in each EPOWR and LPOWR. Could be very interesting in here with this bunch. )

Read your post and of course, if someone tosses out a interesting horse at 15/1 it got my attention. Couple of problems with the . His two best figures showing are from a dirt sprint and a off track dirt route. Will those transfer to a higher class turf route? Maybe, will use him in the P4.
Brings up another horse in the race that is interesting, Where's Jordan, at 12/1. Has shown the ability to run fast enough on the turf in routes to win this race.
GL.
And just for the hell of it, will post my P4 play before it starts.

Hello Jay:
I hear what you are saying and I appreciate your input regarding the #2. You are right, we will have to wait and see how any perceived form may transfer over to the Turf. I must use him on the P4 as well. The #3 is very interesting and he has run fast enough at a distance of 7.5 furlongs. I am glad that you mentioned him. Made me give him a second look!!
He has dominant late speed, the Best E2 and Late combination, Best speed at a comparable distance. He is a class drop and he is also down in purse. Must include in my P4!! May just sweep by them late to get the money...
Jay, I too am a Nebraska guy (from Omaha). "Don't Husk with the Fuskers" baby!!
Good Luck (skill) if you are playing at Canterbury Downs early this eve Jay!
All The BEST!
By the by, can you play online from NE these days?
