Scabs....You continue to show your ignorance applying this name to some of the bravest athletes in the world. Pathetic.

Joe Bravo in California
Can anyone provide Joe Bravo's stats when he rode in California previously?

So how many safety incidents have there been at Monmouth because of no whips?

So just before Irad's horse dug in last week and tossed him, Irad ducked down on the horses neck. I am wondering if he actually lost contol of the whip and was reaching for it.
Just an observation, not fodder for the trollers.

I don't understand the incredible anger this issue brings up in some of you. I know some are trolls and others are triggered by getting up in the morning, but the sheer joy in seeing the track do badly because they don't want horses whipped...just bizarre. Fitting for this site, but bizarre.

I am one of the people on the other side of the issue about Monmouth Park. I don't have anger about it. Monmouth Park is a nonstarter as a Racetrack for betting...and the reasons are NUMEROUS. Those reasons started WAY before whipping became such an issue.
I have never attacked you or anybody else who wishes to patronize Monmouth Park. That is your business. But for you or anybody else...attempting to claim some kind of Moral Superiority on this topic is a joke. Four reasons:
1. Dennis Drazin
2. Jason Servis
3. Jorge Navarro
4. Bob Baffert
Find yourself some better footing before coming after others about their choices. Monmouth Park is a Shithole. They were a Shithole LONG before this whipping issue came front and center. People are speaking with their wallets. I honestly hope Monmouth Park sticks to their guns. I bet a lot of Property Developers hope they do, too.

Elkchester- I’ve heard a lot of people voice displeasure over Mth’s handling of Servis and Navarro. I get that. Curious if you (or others) have similar issues with Gulfstream or even NYRA. It is a genuine question- I’m not trying to defend Mth or anything. I could see singling out Mth if these guys hit their 30% win rate at Mth, but they won everywhere, stabled at GP (Servis may have had stalls in NY but I don’t think so), and Servis trained for a NYRA board member. So why do you single out Mth in this regard (your disdain due to Drazin is another matter!). Thanks

Joe Bravo is the King of Monmouth for many many years....
Yes , hes riding elsewhere and most likely isn't going to make as much
But he still stuck to his beliefs and morals!!!!!

I have been to numerous racetracks and the last thing I would call Monmouth is a “shithole.” The quality of racing isn’t the best, but the facility is very nice and is a nice place to visit.

One more thing before I lay it to rest......
If Monmouth was so sure that the experiment would work
Then
Why would they ban riders if they didn't race on the First Day of the Meet
and
Pay the TOP 4 finishes in every race "EXTRA MONEY"
Jockeys Pennington, Sanchez, Paco did the smart thing by riding Day#1 and then going elsewhere , they now can come back to ride anytime.
Check out the names you know vs don't

Raised on MP over 18 years of running their. People are very quick to throw Dennis Drazin under the bus he did antie up and got control of the track due to the NJSEA and then Governor Christies failure to market racing properly in NJ. This was perfect timing for this group to come in and do what they had to do! as for the no crop or whip rule Jocks can still carry the crop or whip but cannot hit the horses many have elected to ride with those whips or crops and it hasn’t stopped me from racing there or betting there. Since no one has come forward in making any significant changes in horse racing the New Jersey racing commission took it upon themselves to make a change. If anyone thinks other tracks aren’t looking at this no hit ruling you are dead wrong soon others will follow as well.

Could you be any more dramatic?...where is this "incredible anger" you speak of on this topic. And calling others "trolls" is the last defense to a losing argument so please keep up. Many are just pointing out the hypocricy of a track that let drug cheaters thrive but now supposedly care about the horses, all the while putting the red carpet out for Baffert.

I have no idea on how they got mounts and missed opening day...
Maybe they said they had a prior commitment....
But as you can see...they are NOT at Monmouth on a regular basis...!!

Lopez just got there this past weekend, which was his plan all along as far as I’ve read. I wouldnt expect Sanchez or Pennington to ride there regularly- they ride at Parx so maybe hitting Delaware on Saturdays. Pennington was at Belmont 6/6.
The opening night issue I believe pertained only to jocks that had calls that day that they did not honor. I believe the only jock who gave calls but did not ride was Gallardo, who is riding at Presque Isle. Mth said if he wants to ride he would need to have a hearing first.
