Who hooo...........I just caught a jumper proposition in the feature at Belmont, took a flyer on a place ticket on Nicksappealinglady....good for 33 and change when Cocoa Beach ran fourth in a 4 horse race at 1-9....nearing 90% of place pool at post time...and CB needed a race, too.....

Came on PA for the first time after the race to see if it had been noted...the opportunity...apparently everyone was caught lookin t'other way...sorry I didn't have time to post earlier, just got home from watching the grandson play his baseball game...

Cocoa Beach finishes 4th in a 4 horse field... How Do You Do!

And props to Ian Meyer for sending that nice little Tweet! Thank You!

Best of Luck Everyone!

How do we send a broadcast to the Twitter account? Tried to send one RE: the MTR R8 jump, did this:

@bridgejumper TEXT but didn't seem to show up?

the grouptweet API requires that you send a direct message to bridgejumper
like:

'd bridgejumper MNR R8 10 MTP'

it also requires that the send be following bridgejumper and that bridgejumper is following the sender

Tweets Have Been A Little Quiet of Late...

Although we have yet to catch a failed bridgejump, there is promise in the service. The bridgejumper needs to be right 20 out of 21 times to profit. The contrarian play only has to be right at about 5% of the time to profit.

Remember posting to this thread doesn't publish the anti-bridgejump opportunity to Twitter. A direct message to the bridgejumper twitter account is required.

A few observations...

1. The group has grown to 140 strong... that is a pretty nice base!
2. Only a small % of members have posted a Bridgejump Betagainst Opportunity (BBO). In order for this to be as good as in can be we are going to need a higher level of participation from the base. Let's see if we can pump up the number of contributors this weekend!
3. Since IAN's winning BBO Alert on 6/21 there have only been a dozen or so alerts. I sense that there have plenty more BBO's that have gone "unalerted" and perhaps a "KERSPLAT!" or two in the mix. Let's see if we can surface a few more BBO's during this upcoming holiday weekend!
4. At least a dozen or so "Soft Landings" since our last score... I think we are about DUE!

Lastly, does anyone else think it may be of benefit to coordinate our monitoring.. for example, if someone is keeping an eye on a handful of tracks, would it be worth posting that here so others would be aware and could watch some others? For me, I will typically be playing one track, but can keep a pretty good eye on 4-6 others... any more than that is a pain in the arse.. What does everyone think? It seems to me that ideally we would have a few people assigned to each track to ensure adequate coverage, as they can be tough to catch at times having some back-up would help to ensure timely notifications.

In summary, I think Stu has done a nice job getting the ball rolling on this little project and I for one would like to see it continue, but I think we have some opportunity to increase its effectiveness.

Comments appreciated!

Where have all the BridgeJumpers gone?

I took a quick look over about 30 tracks from yesterday and only spotted 5 instances of an entry taking 75% or more of the show pool. This resulted in 2 wins, 1 second, 1 third and ONE KERSPLAT!

The unsuccessful mini-jump was by an apprentice bridgejumper at Arapahoe. The 3 horse in the 5th race was the Even Money Favorite on the morning line and was sent off at 3-2 in a 6 horse field with 82% of a $5k Show Pool. The 3 was never better than 3rd and faded to 4th at the finish. She Made It Happen (no relation ) finished 2nd at 23.4-1.

Wagers against these 5 bridgejumpers yesterday would have returned $3.45 for each $2 wagered... not too shabby a day, if you could catch them.

Best of Luck Today Everyone!

Nice catch. I don't usually look for the little ones like that, but in an apprentice race, that was just a drowning waiting to happen.

I like the ones with that have hefty pools, where $100 wagers won't make a huge dent in the percentages.

PS / edit - By the way, I'm keeping my eye on Arlington's 9th today...3/5 morning line in the Chicago Handicap, a field of six.

last flash jumpers today

2@ Suffolk and 1 at finger lakes. No higher than 25k on any but all of these came in last flash.
Could be the same person or maybe someone looking to duck us. I see no reason to try to duck us but cant rationalize a last flash jumper.
These horses were already 2/5 or lower throughout the betting.

Could just be someone placing bets via an automated program that's set to fire at 0 mtp.

4th ~5-Snow Down
