Absolutely one of the worst aspects of our sport. I remember how Cordero et al used to game the system so they would never have to serve suspensions at Saratoga.

Literally no other sport allows this. And it's absolutely the fault of corruption in our regulatory system- officials are buddy-buddy with owners and don't want to "hurt" them by taking jockeys off their good horses.

The way it should work is the way every other sport works:

There's a foul. THE NEXT DAY, there's a hearing. Suspension starts the day after. No designated races. You're out. Period.

First time poster here.
Agree 100% with dilanesp
It's a joke the way the stewards handle jockey suspensions here.
I follow Australian racing and I love the way they do it there.
They'll suspend them the same day of the infraction.
Suspended so many days from date to date. Just a few days out from the infraction and absolutely NO designated races.
If you lose a mount in a Group 1 race coming up, so be it.
Would be much better here if they follow that.
