Belmont Stakes Field?
Anybody have any idea what the field will be?
I can see Angel of Empire and Tapit Trice. Who else will even run?

Baffert said National Treasure may run if he comes out of the race in good order. Might as well win the Belmont also, he can go 51 and 116 and be all alone on the lead. Angel of Empire and Tapit Trice have no speed. I see a short field and National Treasure has the perfect style in that he doesn't quit running.

I would love to see Two Phil's and Confidence Game take a crack at this race.

I think Tapit Trice was bred for this distance, we shall see.

Some possible runners per HRN gurus. Hit show would make some sense. Unfortunately, Mage did not win the Preakness so this will not be one of those years where every other horse is an effective overlay. Like most Triple Crown days, the excellent undercard will provide ample entertainment should the feature fail to impress.
Red Route One S. Asmussen Probable
Prove Worthy T. Pletcher Possible
Forte T. Pletcher Probable mattman
Reincarnate B. Baffert Possible
Arcangelo J. Antonucci Possible
Hit Show B. Cox Possible
Angel Of Empire B. Cox Possible
National Treasure B. Baffert Possible
Arabian Lion B. Baffert Possible
Raise Cain B. Colebrook Possible
Kingsbarns T. Pletcher Possible
Sun Thunder K. McPeek Probable
Tapit Trice T. Pletcher Probable

Man, that looks like a really good field if it holds together.
See that Kingsbarns is out after a bout of colic. Thankfully it wasn't too bad and he should be back.

Seems to be the field below. Hopefully, if it is this big, it presents a good betting race for exotics with some nice long shots underneath, getting the 2nd, 3rd and 4th slots.
Angel of Empire
Arabian Lion
Arcangelo
Forte
Hit Show
Il Miracolo
National Treasure
Prove Worthy
Raise Cain
Red Route One
Reincarnate
Sun Thunder
Tapit Shoes
Tapit Trice
Forte will surely be the likely favourite, maybe 9/5 or 2-1, then National Treasure at 2-1 or 5/2, followed by Angel of Empire at 3-1 or 7/2, and Tapit Trice 4-1 or 9/2, presuming they all run in this race.
These are just my quick thoughts. As I said, I am 100% bad at this morning line stuff, but it is always good to have some chatter about the favourites as well as the long shots heading into the draw!
The draw is Tuesday, June 6th. Post Position #1, followed by #3 and #5, will be the top posts everyone is wanting to get as these posts have won the most Belmont Stakes #1 with 23 wins, followed by #3 and #5 with 13 wins each.
Good luck, everyone!

Can't see Forte at 9/5 or 2/1. Not sure he'll even be favored.
Some really good horses in here. Hit Show ran a bang up 5th in the Derby chasing that horrific pace. Angel of Empire is certainly going to contend for favoritism. National Treasure is obviously no pushover, and Tapit Trice ran a credible Derby finishing 7th with a horrible trip. Throw in the Baffert Arabian Lion that won the Sir Barton well in hand with 1:11 and 1:35 splits while winning in 1:41 and change.
Favorite will be 3/1 or more.

If Kingsbarns makes it, National Treasure won't be alone on the lead with pedestrian fractions.

Arabian Lion is the fastest horse in the field. He is the true wire to wire danger.

If he does ship to Belmont, Arabian Lion would probably run in the Woody Stephens. Otherwise I would expect him for the Los Alamitos Derby.

I wouldn't call it a horrible trip or a credible Derby. He passed some tired horses down the stretch, but Tapit Trice had no interest in running that race. Saez tried to move him up at the start, but the horse insisted on running dead last for the first 1/2 mile.
Will the extra distance help him? probably not.
toss.

Superficially, sons of Tapit that run off the board in the Derby step up in the Belmont.
Tapwrit, Creator, Essential Quality, Tacitus, Hofburg, Lani, Frosted.

This. Then there is Tonalist who came in fresh from the Peter Pan. One cannot easily dismiss that Tapit line in the Belmont. The Raise A Native line was dominant there before the Tapits took over. Even better when a RAN with on top and Northern Dancer dam sire line. The Buckpasser-x has also had strong success in this feature.
Put a line thought Tapit Trice Derby run which is usually good advice for most runners in that affair. His Blue Grass pace wins this.
