Hollywood Dayton
Evolving changes!
4-5 years ago the meet began the 2nd week of September and ran through the 1st week of Jan. They took a break (as do other Ohio tracks) during LBJ week.
Dayton been chopping a few days each year.
This year most of September, plus any Jan dates chopped entirely.
Dayton's early meet handles have always been dismal (Scioto's earlies are just as bad), however this year the post-time changed to 4PM (heads-up with Harrington) and the handles are even smaller.
Purses did increase, and a passing lane was added.
Seems to me that casino mgmnt has given up on any prospect of handle improving and just wishes to get through the required procedure of racing.
Brett Miller been off since Sept 14th and think Noble has taken stock to FLA.
The drivers atmosphere has changed slightly offering some possibilities, despite the low handle an the passing lane.
Lots of NW1 and maidens with a bounty of horses coming from the fairs (near impossible to predict).

Scioto gave free programs nightly as do most tracks. Even the Ohio fairs had free programs. Since I was playing Scioto on a regular basis I emailed asking if I can pick up free Dayton programs.
NOT A PEEP. NO ANSWER. ANY ANSWER IS BETTER THAT NO ANSWER.
They are obviously not interested in racing and their pools to to abysmal for me to bet anyways.

Sure is a great card. And I don't mean to sound cheap. I know I can get a program for a buck.
But Dayton is missing the boat not providing free programs and a bit of advertising.
Free programs get people to view and bet, as any track that offers free programs will tell you.
I have followed this circuit from the Fair races through LBJ week and Scioto and Northfield.
But no free program = no bet for me. Dayton needs to be held accountable for dumbass, old school decisions.
Unless of curse their ultimate desire is to end the racing in racino!

On my second day of watching trips and trends,
I have never in my life seen a track with such a pronounced bisa,
Horses on the outside at any point other than the lane simply cannot go forward, at all...quick sand.
