With his moderate effort today I wonder if Coolmore will simply pull the plug and send him to the shed considering the press his half-brother (Into Mischief--see today's Remsen) has been getting all year. They've done so with similar colts in the past (Hold That Tiger, Johannesburg, etc.) so it won't be a surprise, but it will be a shame because the horse clearly has some talent that has not been realized as a result of chasing Kentucky Derby fantasies, consistently placing him at a distance likely beyond his reach (10 furlongs), and sending him back-and-forth across the Atlantic in a relatively short time frame.

Coolmore still looking for replacement for scat daddy. They have no nay never and Caravaggio, mendy just the most recent reincarnation of the immortal SD.

They went all in for Justify so hopefully they aren't still actively looking.

Mendelssohn probably could take a Grade 1 on dirt, but probably not anytime soon given his long campaign. Nevertheless, I suppose Coolmore might throw a Hail Mary in the Pegasus World Cup.

A slicker move would be a shot at a weak Big Cap, but it's too far into the breeding season and the distance is not ideal.

Justify is not all coolmore. Win star has a big piece. with Caravaggio and No nay never they own outright as with mendy
