Those descriptors do not come to mind from my teenage-early 20's horseplayer memories.
Based on some of what's out there today, I might have a different view on re-hearing/seeing, however.

My status at Mountaineer should be known within a week. I’ll make no further comment until I know one way or the other.

While I had absolutely no problem with his calls, Frank Dwyer was the 1980’s version of Richard Grunder. Dwyer was universally vilified, sometimes unjustly.

I'm well aware of that. I was just pointing out that he wasn't entirely wrong, which someone could easily have assumed from your response.

It's a one sentence response, I didn't make a big deal out of anything.

Barring a last-minute miracle that sees me return to Mountaineer, I’m putting myself out there in the hopes of landing a gainful racetrack job - announcer, writer, publicity, social media, et al. I have a lifetime in horse racing media and can add immediate value to your track.

Go south Peter. Louisiana has many tracks, but outside of the Fairgrounds, none of them have race callers as good as you at calling a race plus you add the ability as a writer, social media and publicity writer as well. The added bonus is the fans that will follow you to wherever you will call races. Mountaineer is a cheap track but has a FIRST CLASS RACE CALLER!
PS: Get well Mark and have Peter bring you with him!
