I haven't tasted broccoli in at least that long, and I still believe in the opinion I formed then.

De gustibus non est disputandum.

I've watched it occasionally for decades. He's right. It hasn't been good for many, many years.

Watching SNL is like smoking cigars: I do it every now and then and it reminds me why I don't smoke cigars.

Same thing with SNL. Every time I tune in it reminds me why I don't watch it anymore.

SNL is an NBC show - of course it is biased and left leaning and sucks.
A bunch of min wage writers and actors who get paid in left over Burger King food.

Alex whatshisname playing Trump- what can you expect from that bag of wind?
His best lines where when he disgraced himself by verbally abusing his daughter.

There is nothing funny that could come from that foul mouth.

As a long term viewer of SNL, I can state without hesitation that it does suck now, and has sucked for a while.

While there remains a few bright spots, for the most part, I find myself saying "I can't believe I'm still watching this show" after many of the skits.

The Trump pieces this year have been pretty entertaining, and Kate McKinnon and Vanessa Bayer are the two bright spots for me as far as the cast goes. Other than that, it's usually a miss unless the guest host happens to be particularly strong...

Whereas in the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, every sketch was gold, Jerry! Gold!

The show has always been hit or miss (most often a miss), such is the nature of sketch comedy produced under a tight schedule. And each generation of cast has its stand-outs and break-outs as well. And of course as you say, a host who brings a lot to the party goes a long way..

My point is it's the same show it's always been. I'd argue it's even better now with the viral pre-recorded videos..

Why do you want to argue about it? That's why there are different flavors of ice cream.

Or maybe it is the same show it has always been, and some people have outgrown it.
