I judge people who blatantly contradict things they've said in the past all in the name of #winning some battle against some unknown foe or "owning the libs..."
Think about it:
45% of Republicans now are okay with a 70% top tax bracket?
If you own a business and move a factory overseas so you can make more money?
You go to the grocery store and just want to buy some cheap crap?
EVUUUULLLL... Globalist... EVUUULLL... Boo Hiss...
When did telling the government to "**** off and let me make this money" become the anathema of the Republican Party? I thought this was the American Dream party? I thought the left had a monopoly on that?
What changed? The answer is Trump caters to some on the left's more base instincts... he's moving the party left.... "Don't worry... Uncle Sam has your back."
Hard. Pass.

Exactly. Obama had a fixed political dogma that he bought into and followed.
Trump is neither dogmatic nor consistent, and he doesn't listen to "advisers". He judges each issue based on his intuition, without regard to expert opinion, fact, theory, or history.

No argument here.

So what is uninformed about wanting some sort of border security and restrictions on who can come in and how long they can stay?

There is nothing uniformed about wanting that. The problem is an uniformed belief that Trump's wall is the optimal solution to that security issue.

Obama was a State Senator for eight years, and a US Senator for four. I would say that 12 years is actually quite a bit more than 0 years

You are not listening very well to what he is saying. He wants a multipronged approach ... more border patrol agents, more judges and crews for asylum seekers (there is a backlog of near a million people), more fencing, ....

and that is why it's now on the Dems. They don't care about the people out of work and not getting paid because it's more important to stick it to Trump. The public will soon start to figure that out.

Because they aren't making deals around this shut down.
I don't understand why this is so difficult for Trump to get...
They aren't interested in the dealing. The public is blaming the White House. The President said he'd own this until he gets his way.
So... he's owning it.
Trump somehow thought this was going to be a negotiation when Democrats, Pundits, other Republicans, and perhaps Barron have tried telling him its not. The terms are pretty simple to him, "act like an adult and open government and we can talk... until then you can kick rocks."
Democrats are even planning on passing some bills this week that will spend an extra billion on the border. About half to update Port of Entries and the other half for judges, lawyers, court officers to process immigration claims/ deportations/ etc.
I've said it over and over its just not clicking there was never really a deal here... the only compromise that's been made so far is between Trump and Kushner.

Under two per cent GDP growth isn't growth, unless you're an economist who thinks he's the smartest guy in the room, or a broker who has already proven he isn't even as smart as an economist.
Clocker said that the booming Trump economy is no big deal because … Trump inherited a 'growing' economy from Obama.
That's how those two statements are reconciled.

He voted “present” 129 times in Illinois
He missed 25 % of U.S. Senate votes.
Laser focused huh?
