New manufacturing jobs are being started with manual labor. Manufacturing jobs are increasing in the country. If machines need maintained and repaired.
Machines have always replaced manual labor substituting fuel and electricity for people power. The disadvantage is the upfront costs, which restricts new production, especially in low margin businesses.
So you may be correct that few robots will be replaced on an assembly line. There also will be more humans on new production lines versus robots. Those humans are getting jobs that were not available under 0bamma/Bush, who had no problem sending jobs overseas.

How about We The People declare a national boycott of the 2020 Presidential Elections and not show up? Now that would be a "real" shut down.
The House and Senate members are a total disgrace and deserve no support from the American people. They do not deserve ever to collect any taxpayer salary after their term expires. They are the lowest of excrement and must be purged from the halls of the capitol. They are traitors pure and simple.Flush them down the sewer.

Don't more not vote than vote as it is?

Unlike the left, the right actually express their own opinions.
This would be funny to a troll.
Not much else.
Thanks for playing.

Not sure what Elysian thinks he saw, but this is a solid gambit by Trump.
He'll get his money. He'll have to give something in return but that was the way things happened last century. Compromise ain't that bad.

He won't.
That's the really funny part. Democrats aren't taking this deal.
As far as compromise... he maybe should have led with this... Dick Nixon has a pretty good bead on this:
You guys are just Trump apologists at this point...

I don't think so.
Ann Coulter and Nancy Pelosi have both already rejected it.
Did he really think he was fooling anyone by not saying the word 'wall'?
A wall by any other name is just as much of a waste of money.

It is too early to tell - after many citizens call their legislators, the story may change.

I think and so do a lot of other people, that he was mocking them about it.
And Ely, when YOU are a Trump HATER, everyone else is a Trump apologist.
Good speech that will sit well with most average Americans.
Personally i object anything DACA, but I am not a democrat, so I don't HAVE to agree with him on everything.
I would compromise - KEEP the DACA kids and deport the SCOTUS.

From Breitbart:
Quote:
Trump said, “Our plan includes the following: $800 million in urgent humanitarian assistance, $805 million for drug detection technology to help secure our ports of entry, an additional 2,750 border agents and law enforcement professionals, 75 new immigration judge teams…a new system to allow Central American minors to apply for asylum in their home countries and reform to promote family reunification for unaccompanied children, thousands of whom wind up on our border doorstep. To physically secure our border, the plan includes $5.7 billion for a strategic deployment of physical barriers, or a wall. This is not a 2,000-mile concrete structure from sea to sea. These are steel barriers in high priority locations.”

Fortunately, I don't have the American electorate divided up so neatly as you do.
The very notion of this implies (and probably further divides) the concept that there are actually people out there who are not extreme to either side.
I spend a lot of time on the gov dot site, reading bills that are being introduced, and who voted for what.
When it is time to vote, I pull the lever based on that..... not based on twitter, fox news, nsnbc, CNN or any other biased information. I am not a sheep, therefore, I do not vote like one.
Thus, I am able to vote for republicans, democrats, indepedents PER issue in local, regional, state, federal elections. If I am not given a choice that pleases me, then I write in a name.
Seems like the way an EDUCATED voter would go about using their a very important RIGHT that they have?
People who vote their party, no matter what, seems like a really ignorant way to be...... I just have NEVER found it necessary to do that in my entire lifetime of voting, which is 47 years since I was given the opportunity to vote.

Calling it like I sees it isn't being a Trump hater...
The guys is a ****ing disaster and quite possibly light-years more incompetent at the job than the justifiably mocked Jimmy Carter. This whole mess is his creation. He has royally messed this up and overplayed what was an incredibly weak hand. One of the funniest things is the recurring reason this shutdown began in the first place was the likes of Ann Coulter and Rush attacking him in December.
You think Democrats are going to bite on this now?
Shit dude there was already blood in the water for Trump and now he's getting it from BOTH SIDES?
Keep banging the bongos though dude... so much #winning...
Jokes!

To the true believers, you are either a Trumpster or a Trump Hater. Any criticism of The Donald means that you hate him. There is no middle ground.

This smacks of a guy desperate* to end this and save face...
Where was this a month ago? It seems like a perfectly sound policy suggestion?
Oh yeah... it wasn't about policy it was about pandering his base*... look where its gotten him.
*: Which is why he's publicly rejected this several times in the past month until now.
