When I saw Hofburg badly boxed in near the back, coming out of the final turn, I knew he was finished.
A closer like him stands to have a lot easier time in the Preakness.

Justify is the best 3yo at this time of year all-time, official times don't mean much without a variant and that's why I responded the way I did, it's not personal

I didnt take it personal. Been around boards way to long.
The final time, even with variant, was a bit slowish, at least for Justify.
Thats a silly pace, one which should not have to be repeated.

Look I like Justify, but stop with the hyperbole.
He isn't even as good as Smarty Jones was at this time in his career.
Don't even make me go back to Spectacular Bid, Seattle Slew, Affirmed etc.
Heck he wasn't even the best horse Baffert had in his barn at this time in his career. Silverbulletday, Silver Charm and Point Given were all better.

He wasn't really that muddy, that's why he won. He was so far back, he never got any of the heavy goop on him. The other horses came home carrying over 145lbs. He was barely over 126.

I rarely get excited about a horse that wins the Derby, or I haven't since Seattle Slew, but this time I don't have a problem with the people who think that Justify is going to win the Triple Crown. To do what he did in his fourth lifetime start is impressive.

I have no problem with anyone getting excited either. Just a little historical perspective is in order.
Right now he is Big Brown 2.0

You don't know what you're talking about - no horse has done what Justify has accomplished in their first four races - zero, zilch, nada
I commented before the race that Justify is the best horse that I've seen of any 3yo this time of year, that isn't an exaggeration it's fact.
Just for shits and giggles who did you play on top?

Once again Beyer guys give another low number, at least they're consistent with this horse.
Sometimes I wonder if they intentionally do this, such a disservice to the horse.

Why do you care about this? When comparing a matchup to another horse next time is all I care about as a player. Why is this a disservice? Why are you so emotionally invested in a single horse? You must not be a player because only teenage girls act this way towards things. Cry some more for me pumpkin!

Beyers are based on final time only, take into account the pace and that number is solid, if not impressive.
