However, a quarter of its ice has been lost since 1970. This month, in a long-awaited special report on the cryosphere by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), scientists will warn that up to two-thirds of the region’s remaining glaciers are on track to disappear by the end of the century. It is expected a third of the ice will be lost in that time even if the internationally agreed target of limiting global warming by 1.5C above pre-industrial levels is adhered to.

NO one is making this up.
Assuming we are supposed to have ice caps.
You assume too much.

It’s been 10 years since former Vice President Al Gore said on this video: “… some of the models suggest … that there is a 75 percent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during summer, during some of the summer months, could be completely ice-free within the next five to seven years.”

Earlier this month a group of climate change activists en route to document the vanishing ice needed to be rescued halfway between the North Pole and Norway. Their boat, the Malmo, got stuck in ice.

But, but, but, but wait. There's more.

Here is the Ship of Fools list of shame
Ship of Fools 1 Australian climate researcher Chris Turkey and a crew of climate alarmists on a mission to demonstrate just how much Antarctic ice has been affected by global warming get stuck in unexpectedly thick ice and have to be rescued by helicopter.
Ship of Fools II Arctic expedition led by veteran explorer David Hempleman-Adams to raise awareness of “permanent irreversible change in the sea ice landscape of the Arctic” caused by global warming is ruined by unexpectedly large quantities of ice.
Ship of Fools III Global warming research study in Canada cancelled because of ice. “It became clear to me very quickly that these weren’t just heavy ice conditions, these were unprecedented ice conditions” claims the lead scientist, blaming it on “climate change fully in action” and calling it “a wake up call for all of us in this country.”
Ship of Fools IV Arctic Mission sailing expedition to North Pole to raise awareness of global warming has to turn back after yachts find their passage blocked by large quantities of unexpected frozen white substance.
Ship of Fools V Scientists, students, filmmakers from University of Rhode Island’s Inner Space Center on a mission to “document climate change effects” in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago have to be rescued after the ship is damaged after grounding on unexpected hard, bluey-white substance floating on the sea.
Do you think someone up there is trying to tell these people something?

that stupidity reminds of that clown Inhofe bringing a snowball to Congress as if ICE were somehow missing from the environment all of a sudden.

quote: He said that, because "God's still up there", the "arrogance of people to think that we, human beings, would be able to change what He is doing in the climate is to me outrageous.

The Polar Bear Catastrophe that Never Happened. IUCN red list says there are more polar bears alive today than at anytime in the last 50 years. Estimates are 40,000, up from 10,000 or fewer in the '60's.

The polar bear played a prominent role in his 2007 documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, the polar bear example was left out of [2017’s] An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power. It doesn’t even get a mention.

The polar bear climate scare has collapsed and the former Vice President abandoned using the iconic animal as a symbol for his scare campaign.

You guys should have listened to President Gore...
Quote:
The IUCN Polar Bear Specialist Group lists the polar bear as a vulnerable species, citing sea ice loss from climate change as the single biggest threat to their survival. The most recent study (Hamilton & Derocher, 2018)* estimates there are currently about 23,000 polar bears worldwide. But without action on climate change, we could see dramatic declines in polar bear numbers by mid-century.

Yeah over minus 500 rep points and proud of every one. I know each delivered a "squirm in your pants" and "wait, that's not what King Donald the False told me"
